Saturday Updates

Two cans of Murphy's Irish Stout and an Arturo Fuente Short Story yesterday. Just glorious.

The window company with whom we've been fighting finally delivered one of the windows on back order. Turned up in the warehouse, the nice young man said. He also said he'd moved here recently from California. 'How do you like New Jersey,' we asked. 'Oh, it's a lot cheaper here,' he replied. WTF?

Today we shall finish reorganizing (more or less) the utility room after the Passover water heater mishap.

The things.

We have ordered a final proof of The New American Order, not to edit anything just to see the finished product. Always do that before publishing. Always. We've also ordered the kindle eBook file. Soon, soon. Maybe next week, or should we wait to 1 May just to make the bookkeeping a little easier? Anyway, three nuke novels. Not bad for an idea that was originally supposed to be a short story in Seven Stories

TNAO will be the first book released this year, right on schedule. Next we must consider what, if any short story compilations we want to write in the nuke universe. The series sells well, very well, and there's plenty of ideas to explore. We're thinking one compilation about the night and immediate aftermath of the war, and one compellation about the future after the war. Like, what's going on in the 90s. But that is the subject for Will's Good Idea for the Week of 4/16/23. There is also the matter of the next ten years.

Moving on...We had a decent enough week with World War 1990: The Final Storm. We concentrated on the post SAS raid chapter. It's almost done. Next week we'll finish that chapter and write the chapter where the White House, or Air Force One anyway, figures out what's happening. From there we'll need a few small vignettes, and that's that. We wrote the final scene years ago. For the first time we feel that twinge of excitement, maybe, just maybe we're almost done? Autumn.
