The New American Order 1977-1981

Mrs. Stroock is pleased with her 76rs up 2-0 vs the Nets.

Blood work this morning. No mask.

And so our War Between the States reading project begins with William C. Davis's tome, Look Away, about the Confederacy. This is a reread, we don't care. You know, in our future history 2543, the Martians would probably like the Confederate ascetic, and name the Confederate Class of cruiser after them. One day we'll get to this, in the Next Ten Years.

Good, 'Filber’s current poll has the Likud at 30 seats (down from its current 32), MK Benny Gantz’s National Unity at 29 (way up from its current 12), and Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid at 14 (down from 24). The current coalition parties poll at 57 seats.' This probably just means Netanyahu's coalition will cling to power for as long as it can, but it's nice to see a viable alternative rising. Take those three parties and you'd have a strong, center coalition. One can dream.

It's Yom HaShoah Day, Holocaust Remembrance Day. We don't care, much. We'd much rather have Yom Ariel Sharon Kicked the crap out of the Egyptians Day.  The Olde Testament is filled with fire and brimstone, and wrath for a reason. As we've said before, one fate awaits all enemies of the Jews. Right now we fly our IDF flag.

Over at 1945, Brandon Weichert takes the measure of President George Herbert Walker Bush. 'George H.W. Bush was a decent man who simply couldn’t get out of his own way when it came to the presidency. He was not a Reaganite and instead favored moderate, technocratic solutions to some of America’s most vexing problems. This did not appeal to voters.' Sounds right to us. In 1992 we were 19 and voted for Bill. No regrets. After 12 years, it was just time for someone and something new.

Now, if an actual supply sider had gotten the nom in 1988 would things have turned out differently? Maybe (said in a questioning, uptalked tone of voice). Boy has it been a long time since anyone talked about Jack Kemp, and we had actually forgotten he was Bob Dole's running mate in 1996. It was widely believed he did a bad job in the debate against Al Gore. We shrug. Bill was going to win in 1996 no matter what. Anyway, there was a time when Kemp was considered Reagan's intellectual successor.

Fine. We got impatient. It's out. We feel nothing but fear, terror, and self loathing.
