Welcome Laplanders

A long piece by Dara Horn at the Atlantic asking an interesting question, 'IS HOLOCAUST EDUCATION MAKING ANTI-SEMITISM WORSE?: Using dead Jews as symbols isn’t helping living ones.'

Horn Writes about the rise of Antisemitism in the United States. As previously noted we've been going to the gym in Israel T-shirts and wearing an Israel baseball cap about. Maybe it's just because of where we live. Maybe it's just because we're big. Maybe it's just because nobody's gonna see us and point, 'There's a Jew.' But we get nada, nuthin, zilch. No judenhaus directed at us.

We had our suspicions about the author and went to Twitter. We feared we'd find Horn tweeting away about DeSantis and drag-rights or some such. We were relieved. Dara Horn says she 'doesn't use Twitter much'. So our first suspicion was unwarranted. Very often, as Horn points out, Holocaust education segues into the pet cause of whoever is doing the educating, illegal Mexicans or Inuit rights.

There's a lot to go through in Horn's article about Jewish culture, memory and use of the Holocaust. The Holocaust is a big thing in Jewish life, obviously and rightfully so.

We bet a lot of Stroock's Books reader(s) are sick of hearing about the Holocaust. We are and have been for decades. ' Again with the Holocaust?' This stokes resentment. It just does. We've only seen Schindler's List once.

In reading Horn's piece, we found the sheer national Holocaust educational effort to be staggering. It's everywhere. But why? There is a Holocaust industry producing books, movies, museums all needing docents and educators and panels and interorganizational chairs. The Holocaust industry is lucrative.

We can and probably will go on. But not now.

So we got an offer to do a talkie thing and they sent along the particulars. That's a hell of a business model, where they you an offer to in which YOU pay THEM to go on air. That's a hard pass from us. No. No, thank you.

Congratulations on your new NATO membership, Finland. Benefits include access to our all inclusive...Those Laplander bastards will probably be more useful than the Walloons, no?

We have no insights on today's circus in Manhattan. Trump is right about the judge though. The fix is in. Don't doubt that for a second. If Trump were really interested in defeating Joe, tonight he'd declare, 'For the good of the country I step aside and endorse Ron Desantis.' Okay he doesn't have to endorse DeSantis, but still.

Regarding Dylan Mulvaney and undrinkable piss-water Bud Light, an associate of this blog suggests, 'So, what if I advocate for violence by having a bunch of men dress up as women and dump Bud Light into Boston Harbour? Would that make me a fed?' No, but that's an excellent idea.

Commercial break, relevant:
Bud Light has always treated its customers like idiots. Which these people deserve since they're drinking, you know, Bud Light.
