We are feeling less hungover, tired, and soar this morning. Progress?
So members of our designated place of worship renewed their wedding vows last night. Being an 80s couple, this was their song. In other retro news, those little disposable cameras were at each table (we didn't know they were still on the market) and we got to watch our Zoomer children try to figure out how to work them. Fun.
A Happy Hiroshima Day to all those who celebrate. My FB feed includes this memory. 'Happy Hiroshima Day! This evening I drove back to his hotel a 91-year-old man who was a top Sgt. in a medical evac unit that was going ashore in the first wave. My Grandfather. Thank you, President Truman.' Seriously Japan apologists. Go fuck yourselves.
We understand that the US Women's Soccer Team was eliminated from the World Cup by Sweden. Good. Thank you, Viking goddesses.
Will's Good Idea for the Week of 8/6/23. World War 1990: The Final Storm, includes a 15,000 word section that sort of goes from one theatre of the war to another (Cuba, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Poland, etc etc) updating readers on what's happening in those places. The more we think about it, the more axing that section seems like a good idea. Seriously, TFS is a much tighter novel without that section.
