Stroock family preparations for Disney continue....We've gotten in plenty of walking to get used to plenty of walking and break in some new shoes. Last year at Disney we averaged something like 12,000 steps a day.
Three Israeli divisions (the 36th and 162nd and ?) are in Gaza. These include the Givati, Nahal, Barak and Golani Brigades. Those are the very best brigades of the Israeli army. Israeli forces are advancing on three axes. One division along the coast, one in the northeast, and one through the north-center of the strip, cutting off Gaza City from the south.
IDF engineers are destroying Hamas tunnels with bulldozers, robots, etc. Accounts we follow think the IDF is absolutely hammering Hamas. There were many 'prolonged battles' last night. As of this writing, 18 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza.
I've seen things you wouldn't believe...A trio of IDF tanks yards from a sand embankment...firing point blank into same...an RPG streaks out and hits one of the tanks...nothing happens....tank fires main gun point blank range...A second RPG scores a direct hit....nothing happens... main gun and MG fire resume.
The skirmishing on the northern border with Hezbollah intensifies. Hassan Nasrallah to make big speech tomorrow. The Israelis are hitting Hezbollah terror squads before they can even deploy. Beware of overconfidence though. Hezbollah may be learning much about how the Israelis respond to their operations. The Israelis will know this too and are probably holding back. You know what the imams say. Exit question, tens of thousands of IDF reserve troops are deployed to the north. What regular IDF army brigades are there?
