Welcome back to Saturday Updates, Stroock's Books Continuum.
We await snow with a sense of anticipation. 3-6 inches of snow expected. Gonna rev up that snow blower.
The Stroocks of New Jersey got out the calendar and made tentative summer plans. Foreign travel didn't even come up. Instead, we'll be hitting the Jersey Shore a couple of times and sojourning to the Stroock Northern Strategic Direction.
We got back to the gym yesterday, despite residual shoulder soreness. In our experience resting and remaining idle hoping the pain stops doesn't work. We did some light work with dumbbells yesterday for the first time in...forever.
Oldest Daughter has a debate meet today, topic: The United States should withdraw from the Middle East and North Africa. Should it ever! Though, to point out, the Red Sea is a mess because Joe refuses to smash the Houthis.
The real Ed stopped by yesterday and commented in a way that only a Liverpudlian of a certain age could, 'RE: “For New Year's we emptied the dishwasher and descaled the Keurig.” Well aren’t you just a bundle of joy? Knobhead!' We do love hearing from the mother country.
The things.
We got a new cover for World War 1990: Battle of the Three Seas:
Sales of World War 1990: The Final Storm have popped. Yesterday we moved a hell of a lot of merch in all four English speaking markets. We were #9 in the Amazon UK alternate history category last night, and #19 in the Amazon US alternate history category this morning. We are #3 on Amazon's alternate history new releases list. Sales of other World War 1990 novels increased. And 71% of sales were ebook. We make a lot more money on the ebook.
Today we will work on the single mom War Night short story. We may finish the rough draft. Near as I can tell, it ends simply with she and the kids getting out of the car at home, 'Look mom, it's snowing.'
We are slowly working on the epilogue chapter in World War 1990: Norway. We're also devoting a lot of time to tidying things up, articulating ideas, and making revisions based on our notes from last week's readthrough of the MS. Things are going fine. Overall, World War 1990: Norway is 70,000 words.
