We're such a Mark Steyn fan boi, we've got his defamation trial on in the background via Webex. We tried enter the virtual courtroom as Steyn Defender, but they wouldn't let us in. We got in under William Stroock, though. [Obviously they didn't Google you-Ed]. The judge has already admonished everyone on Webex to be respectful.
Excellent news! We've been asked to submit stories to a couple of alternate history anthologies. Do note, submission does not guarantee acceptance. Also, our last alternate history anthology submission was nominated for an award. We think about our nomination astonishingly little and mention it even less. We've a few ideas.
NFL update: Mike McCarthy will be back in Dallas. We can't kill Jerry Jones for that. The man wins a lot of football games.
Israel 24 Tweets: '"About 87% of Israelis believe that Israel is the safest place for Jews despite the war... Cities like NYC and LA are facing huge antisemitism... Israel is not ready for this potential wave of immigration,"'. As our poli sci prof used to say, yeah.... We've been to a few rallies. We go to the gym in Israeli T-Shirts and wear an Israel hat everywhere we go. What else? We sigh in Hebrew and make Yiddish hand gestures. The status of Jews in America has changed. 10/7 changed it.
General Natan Nagid is doing a little light trolling on Twitter, pointing out that 'some say' WEF Obergruppenführer Klaus Schwab was a Hitler Youth and his father was an important Nazi advisor. Hey, questions have been raised and we seek answers. 'You vill eat de bugs' sounds pretty Nazi to Stroock's Books. The allegation has been made, and it's up to Obergruppenfuhrer Schwab to disprove it.
The Thursday Downer: The January cold is getting to us. We're tired and sore and annoyed that our long stretching regimen is contributing to our soreness. We've been resting, but the shoulder/triceps is still bugging us. Fifty is the year our body started to feel old. You know, we've turned down a chance to take an international trip because the hassle fills us with anxiety and we'd much rather not have the anxiety. The Weather Babe expects 4-6 inches of snow here tomorrow.
We had a bit of a breakthrough yesterday with the War Night, silo story. Everything happens within a 24-hour period. The war began around 9 PM, soooo. [Sooo?-Ed] I dunno. Also the characters, Keegan, Kinkead, Arny, and Moffat are fleshing themselves out. Sometimes one must needs write so as one's characters develop personalities and traits.
We made more progress with the World War 1990: Norway epilogue chapter. Three separate strike groups are hitting the Northern Fleet from three different directions, plus Tomahawks from Task Force 60. The Soviets never stood a chance.
