Will's Good Idea for the Week of 10/6/24

Facebook tells us that nine years ago today we were sitting in a hospital bed cracking jokes about our cardiac catheterization.

October 6th is always a big anniversary for us. But an even bigger anniversary comes tomorrow. We still have no idea what we're going to do about it. We may blog about 10/7. We may blog normally. We may not blog at all. We may walk around town waving an Israeli flag. We don't know. Bibi didn't ask me, but the Israeli's strike on Iran should happen ton 10/7. Whatever happens, tomorrow is gonna suck.

Here's what we wrote exactly one year ago:  'Yom Kippur War Week ends with the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. Egyptians think they won this war, which is both hilarious and sad. We've tried explaining to these people that the war began on the east bank of Suez and ended on the west bank of Suez with Ariel Sharon pissing in the canal and booking rooms in the Cairo Pyramid Hilton for his anticipated arrival. 'Where can we park our tanks?' But it's no use. When the Arab makes up his mind about something.... Oh, Shabot shalom.'

Notes on the Yankees/Royals game: That's the first Yankees game we've watched in....years. We enjoyed hearing Bob Costas not blab on throughout the broadcast unlike other announcers who seem to think silence is some sort of broadcasting crime. An ugly but interesting bullpen game. Giancarlo Stanton is a $30 million DH who can't run. The Yankees finally kept George Brett off the bases in a Yankees/Royals playoff game. IYKYK.

Related, okay idiot broadcasters of the Mets/Phillies game. Getting the winning team to warm up their closer is not a thing. It's not a moral victory and it doesn't help you win the next day. Modern baseball notions are retarded. Joe Tories Yankees would clobber these teams. So would Bob Lemon's Yankees. So would Sparky Lyle's Reds. So would Cito Gaston's Blue Jays. JFC.

Will's Good Idea for the Week of 10/6/24: Natan Nagid should write and publish Not Peace. Victory: Crushing the Palestinians and Establishing Greater Israel. Have an introduction on the Arab/Israel conflict. A recap of Operation Big Ceders. A chapter explaining that there's is no such place as Palestine and no such people as 'Palestinians'. And finally, General Nagid's plan, or solution, if you will.
