Mid Weak Knee

Good morning, Stroock's Books associated reader(s) and persons interested in the doings of Stroock's Books.

No rain last night.

Ah, there goes the knee again.

A big black ant just ran across the table. Spring is truly here.

Today we'll attend (virtually) the funeral for the father of an old friend. Won't some kind soul click over and read the obit? 'In his free time, he enjoyed landscaping, solving crossword puzzles, and playing bridge.' We'll vouch for that, as every weekend one would see the man working in the yard. The trees he planted still stand.

New Jersey in the news... The Asbury Park Press reports: FREEHOLD — A former special education teacher at Freehold Intermediate School has been indicted on seven counts of sexual crimes against an eighth-grade student in her class, said Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago on Tuesday.'  What's with the epidemic of female teachers shtupping their students this last decade or so? We just don't get it. It's not even funny any more.*

Anti-Hamas protests in Gaza yesterday organized by the various tribes in the strip. Hamas ain't gonna like this one bit. Exit question: are these tribes armed? Exit thought, a Gazan civil war, now there's an idea.

Related: this week the president has ordered a second carrier battlegroup to the Persian Gulf. This morning news that B2 bombers are at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. A message to Iran?

Sports wrap: The Giants have signed free agent quarterback Russell Wilson. Oh fuck no. Wilson's former team, the Steelers, who are desperate for a QB, didn't want him. So why do the Giants? This franchise is a mess.

DOGE report: a not unproductive day yesterday as we wrote three scenes around Denis Thatcher. We ordered proofs of War Night: Stories of the Great Nuclear War of 1975. Editors, proofer, readers, and grognard will have this weekend. We already spotted a major mistake.

*Okay, Brianne Altice was totally hot. Que up the Van Halen.
