Monday Free Knee

Good morning, Stroock's Books people.

The knee shows signs of not feeling as bad as it did yesterday, so far. Wish us luck. We're still resting, that is, not working out. We hate not working out and already feel icky. We hate that too.

We got some blessed rain overnight and are expecting more blessed rain today. New Jersey reservoir levels remain at about 70 percent.

Well, the Canucks have finally called an election. Will the cons, who've lost a once insurmountable lead, recover? Or will the Libs ek out a tie and form the next government ala France, the Netherlands, Germany etc etc? One supposes it all comes down to leadership. Pierre Poilievre has the advantage over Davos Man Mark Carney, right? Right?

Speaking of Canada...What Will's Watching: Shoresy. A whacky and irreverent Canadian sitcom about a bunch of washed-up hocky players in the Northern Ontario Senior Hockey Association, or NOSHO. Jared Keeso plays Shorsey, a grizzled hockey player who loves the game and putting down opposing players, ownership, the kids in the high school league he officiates on Friday nights... He's impossible to explain so here's a clip. Enjoy. Tasya Teles is also notable (and hot) as the owner of the Sudberry Blueberry Bull Dogs. Lots of Canadian inside hockey and inside Canada jokes. We had to have someone explain the whole Newfie thing to us. Keeso is a Millennial but Shoresy has a hell of an ironic vibe. Highly funny and enjoyable 4/4.

DOGE report: Yesterday we read over opening chapter of World War 1990: Thatcher's War. A bunch of fixing we did. International scene....US scene...International scene...US scene, with the US scenes segueing to the international scenes.  'Powell wondered what Sarajevo was thinking...Slobodan Milosevic smiled as the D30 guns fired another volley...'

Today we'll take a whack at the Irish reaction to the attempt on Thatcher chapter. Irish Rangers up first. We've got them putzing around Donegal as a sop to Thatcher who called up Taoiseach Charles Haughey the night WWIII began and demanded he take action to quell the IRA.

Monday Metal's triumphant return. Sorry folks, but when we see Tesla in the news, this is what we think of:

We saw Tesla at the Westchester County Center in 1989, Starland Ballroom in 2005, and opening for Def Leppard at PNC Arts Center in 2015. Tesla was a big part of our 2005 metal revival. We should totally do a 2005 alive post on that.
