Andor Sparked

Good morning Stroock's Books reader(s) and assorted political refugees.

We are tired and sore after an excellent weightlifting session yesterday. We benched again. After maxing out at 300 we did three sets of 10 at 180. Next time we'll do three sets of 12. We may eschew today's planned cardio session. We'll see how we feel around 4 PM.

Trump and Netanyahu aren't getting along, they say. Sooner or later Bibi will antagonize any American president, no matter who it is. Meanwhile the Israelis bombed a massive Hezbollah underground complex overnight. To the south, all quiet on the Houthi front. IDF preparations for a grand offensive into Gaza later this month continue apace. Israel Radar notes Rafah is almost leveled, while central Gaza remains the last untouched bastion. This blog maintains those preparations are port a pressure campaign to force Hamas to release hostages. The Arabs are piling on Hamas.

What Will's Watching, Andor Season-2 Episodes 4-6. True to form the second batch of Andor episodes was better than the first batch. These focused on growing discontent on the plant of Gorman which feels like a cross between a renaissance Italian city and a 19th century German industrial city. The planet and it's people are well crafted. The Empire needs what lies beneath Gorman's surface for...Director Krennic's project. These episodes kept us wanting to see more, we'll say that. But to be honest, we don't remember much. Every time Cassian Andor was on the screen we got bored.

DOGE report: We worked on the third Derry chapter and got down a couple of thousand words. Things are coming along roughly but they are coming along. We're halfway through rereading one of our IRA books. Our Irish Rangers book (more of a large informational pamphlet, really) arrived yesterday.

No progress on the nuke story idea front. We await the lightning, the spark across the sky.
