Good morning Stroock's Books reader(s) and happy Cinco de Mayo to fans of Eli Wallach, Ennio Marricone and spaghetti westerns.
War Night: Stories of the Great Nuclear War of 1975 is falling in the Amazon rankings. But the other three books in The Great Nuclear War of 1975 series are rising. Do note, and we didn't realize this till yesterday, we're seeing a typical sales surge, but with a jacked up opening price of $9.99.
Israel is about to launch a massive offensive to conquer Gaza they say. We say this is most likely a threat to force Hamas into a better hostage deal. Ironically and hilariously were Israel to conquer Gaza, they could rearrest hundreds of previously released terrorists. Stroock's Books thinks the Israelis should eschew a hostage deal and get on with things. Tough words which are tough to hear and easy to say from New Jersey...oh look a mysterious fire at an Iranian weapons depot. You know what the imams say.
Trump has switched back to the bellicose Iran rhetoric. Good. Meanwhile, stuff's just randomly exploding in Iran. And what to do about the Houthis? Netanyahu says they'll hold Iran responsible for Houthi actions. Pick a nuclear site and bomb it, Bibi. As Joel Goodsen once opined, 'Sometimes you have to say what the fuck.'
DOGE Report:
We still have no idea what to write in a fifth nuclear war novel. At this point it's obvious our thinking about this problem is all wrong. One must needs think differently. What do we want to do? We want to write stories about the world from 1981-2000. Okay, what are the issues in that era?
