Good Saturday morning, Stroock's Books reader(s). Get yourself a bowl of cereal and put on the cartoons. Gummy Bears at 8:00, Smurfs at 9:00.
We got in a Judaism last night and said kaddish for someone....Tree guy's here...Yes, we do some things ourselves but no, we're not getting 30 feet into a tree. We're unlucky...OMG...tree guy was in the Israeli Army! OMG, Golani Brigade! [Stop fangirling -Ed].
Well Britain held local elections and Nigel's Reform Party romped.
Does it matter? Do we even trust Nigel? Maybe and probably not. Still, it's nice to see the Tories take it on the chin. Screw them. We can't help but think of 14 lost years of Tory rule; Cameron, May, Boris, Truss, Sunak - who may be the most repulsive of them all).
And Australia is holding elections today? We don't care.
The things.
War Night: Stories of the Great Nuclear War of 1975 has 25 ratings, 4.8 star average. War Night is an excellent book. It usually only takes ten ratings to know that. We are among the best there is, at what we do.
Frustratingly, we made no real progress on nuke story ideas. This is just gonna be one of them things where we sit down and start writing something and let it flow.
We spent all week going over World War 1990: Thatcher's War. The MS is in good shape. Yesterday we read through the second Battle of Derry Chapter. It's a bit wordy and needs trimming but overall things are fine. Today we'll do the third chapter. World War 1990: Thatcher's War is, Jesus, 63,000 words and still only about 3/4 done.
