Good Saturday morning, Stroock's Books weekenders.
The temps today will start out autumnaly but end summery. What the actual ef?
Israel takes half of Gaza city, massacres an elite Hamas unit, and Trump issues a Sunday ultimatum. Suddenly Hamas wants to talk. Funny that. 'Things are moving very fast,' Israel Radar says. Joe Truzman is optimistic.
We saw a lot of people freaking out last night about Trump's ceasefire announcement.* Hot Air has the round up, and do click on the link to Rebel Media's Avi Yemeni who agrees with us. Once Israel has the hostages back, Hamas has zero leverage over Israel, none whatsoever. As for Israel halting air and ground operations, well, they can always resume them.
There's lots of diplomatic rigmarole and Kabuki to follow. We await events.
The Things:
We read through a couple of post Derry [Londonderry-Ed] chapters and fixed them up a bit. Things look....pretty good (said in the most fem-boy uptalk way possible).
Our sad nuke short story is coming along just fine. Soviet cosmonaut story next? We only know the character of one of the cosmonauts.
Today we'll be doing edits requested for a short story submission. In the meantime, enjoy.
*Some morons think Trump is turning on Israel. This is nonsense. This is doomerism. Hamas gave Trump something, a statement calling for negotiations and the release of the hostages. So Trump gave Hamas something, a call for Israel to suspend operations. That's it. After a decade of Trump, does anybody understand how Trump negotiates? Anybody?
