In a ceremony held on the White House’s South Lawn, Israel signed the Abraham Accords with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain thereby establishing normal diplomatic relations between the Arab Kingdoms and the Jewish State. Both the Jewish and Arab peoples are descended from Abraham. The choice of venue is deeply significant as this was the site of the historic Camp David Accord signing of 1977, and the signing of the Oslo Accords by Israel and the PLO in 1994. In a press conference held shortly after the signing ceremony, President Trump speculated that several other Arab nations would soon join the Abraham Accords and establish normal diplomatic relations with Israel, ‘We’ll have at least five or six Arab countries coming along very quickly,’ he said. The Abraham Accords put an end to the late PLO leader Yasser Arafat’s dream of a Greater Palestine.

Your Middle East Peace and Novel Progress Update for 9/17/20

Powerline has a compilation clip of all the foreign policy jet-setters telling us how Trump's moving the embassy to Jerusalem makes peace far less likely and may indeed lead to war. Do watch, and do enjoy. There's even talk of the so-called 'Arab street'. Remember that from the post 9/11 months? The 'Arab street' was the Enron of violent threats. What have these people gotten right in the last 30 years? 

Don Surbur writes about Tom Freidman who still has the gall to opine on foreign policy and the Middle East. After the Second Intifada, which the Israelis ended by bulldozing a terrorist enclave till it looked like a set for a Hiroshima live-action retrospective, this elitist pustule said the 'peace process' could resume because Arafat showed he could make trouble and Sharon showed he couldn't get away with it. Friedman's never been right about anything. Remember the Freidman Unit? The Tom Friedman article generator?

We admit to not really thinking about what the Abraham Accords mean for Bibi. We can't really say what his domestic legacy will be, we're not there, after all. He has a strong economy to his credit. There's also the exploitation of the Leviathan natural gas field, which will make Israel an energy titan. Bibi's got a couple of military victories under his belt. Also he destroyed the Labour Party. Nobody deserved it more. We don't like the way he's handled social issues. We'll call his domestic record 'mixed'. But the Abraham Accords, well, these are downright biblical. Bibi is the undisputed master of Israeli politics, now and for all time.

The Feds monitoring our internet searches probably freaked out yesterday. We spent a couple of hours researching US Navy nuclear reactors. In The Great Nuclear War of 1975, the government is going to dock nuclear vessels and draw power from their reactors. the Enterprise  could generate a couple hundred megawatts. Go on...'I am looking for American nuclear wessel! Anyone know how much that could actually power? 

Between our quest for information about navy reactors and collusion with the GRU we expect to be visited by Federal goons today. Don't worry. We have a plan.

The first half of World War 1990: The Final Storm is really coming together. Lots of good progress this week on preparation for the attack front, cabinet meetings, arguing between Baker and Wolfowitz, that sort of thing.

So we screwed up and sent our GRU handler the wrong article, and they ended up publishing a similarly titled piece on the region that Inforos has in fact reject several months ago. Our GRU handler, lets call her Natasha, said screw it. I like the article, and we'll publish the other one tomorrow.

It is often said that the late Yasser Arafat, head of the Palestinian Liberation Organization and later the Palestinian Authority, never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity. In 1972, Arafat foolishly tried to overthrow Jordan’s King Hussein, a disaster which saw the defeat of the PLO and the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from the Hashemite Kingdom. In 1990, Arafat supported Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait. After the American led coalition defeated Saddam, the Kuwaiti government expelled thousands of Palestinian guest workers. In the Autumn of 2000, the Israelis and the West gave Arafat an opportunity for a conflict resolving peace. Under intense pressure from the Clinton Administration, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barack offered Arafat a Palestinian state, 95% of the West Bank and all of Gaza, land swaps to compensate for the other 5%, shared sovereignty over Jerusalem’s Holy Sites, and a Palestinian capitol in eastern Jerusalem. Arafat rejected Barak’s offer and began the Second Intifada. This was all out war against Israel....

Your Combined NFL Ratings and Joe Biden 'Episode' Report for 9/16/20

Remember how NFL ratings for Sunday night were down 28%? Well that wasn't a fluke. Ratings were down 20% for Monday night. Go ahead and have a morning drink Roger. You need it. You earned it. Dear NFL owners: It's your league. You own it. If the players want to politicize it you have every right to tell them to get fucked. And as we see by the ratings every reason to as well. Oh, and you can fire Roger Goodell if you want, too. You could, you should!

By now you've all seen the footage of both Biden and Harris referencing the Harris Administration. Powerline has the vid. They said the quiet part out loud. We have written rather extensively here and in Inforos about the Democrat primaries in a thus far failed effort to understand how we got to this point. We finally heard a good explanation yesterday. Angkor wanted KAMala Harris to win, but she's such a horrible campaigner, and soooo unlikable, she could only get 7% in the California polls.

Ace* has a good rundown on Senile Joe's senility issues and breakdowns on camera. Yesterday he slipped, thought it was 2012, and talked about reelecting Obama/Biden. Angkor cannot let this go on, yet it must. In its heart, Angkor wants Harris. But remove Joe and by rights Sanders would take his place. So Harris is a no-go. Yet Angkor could never accept Sanders. They can't let a loud socialist head the ticket. Angkor prefers quiet socialists. Also the party of Ilhan Omar isn't going to nominate al Yahud.

We haven't written much about the Abraham Accords. Needless to say they're momentous. Last night we cranked out a piece on them for our GRU handlers at Inforos, but haven't heard back. We hope to see the article out today but don't bet the mortgage payment on that. Our GRU contact does not see the Middle East as we do, though extolling the virtues of Trump's deal does undermine Biden, so perhaps the Kremlin will approve. If the article goes up, we'll celebrate with vodka and potatoes.

We received the August royalties report yesterday, and while sales are down from July, they're not down all that much. In fact sales of Three Seas are coming back a bit this month. We really should get off our butt and give Nederland the final read through. There's no reason not to move the release date up at least a few weeks. Progress this week on The Final Storm is good. Winter 2021 no doubt.
