Fill this up

The people running New Jersey's Motor Vehicle Service really don't want you to show up in person. Which is fine. They mailed us a driver's license renewal form that allowed renewal via mail or online. We chose the latter option and renewed our license in five minutes. Just one of the many reasons why this blog doesn't hate Phil Murphy. Actually the MVS was first streamlined in the early 2000's by former governor Jim McGreevy, about whom the less said the better.

It cost us $75 to fill up our Honda Pilot yesterday. We vaguely remember hearing about the 'Energy Crisis' in the late 70's. Well the energy crisis is coming back, isn't it? Thanks Joe.

Five years ago yesterday we made America great again. The Trump record:

-Last president lawfully elected
-Hillary denied
-Courts remade
-Greatest economy ever
-Energy independence
-Secure border
-Isis defeated, Soleimani and Baghdadi killed
-Abraham Accords
-Operation Warp Speed

To be clear on the top line point, the Dems stole the election of 2020. Stole. The election of 2020 was fraudulent, unfair, dirty, corrupt. In other words the election of 2020 was stolen by the Democrats. To be clearer, Trump won.*

This blog will believe Joe won when critics can present evidence that the election was fair.

Should Trump run again? He's already been elected twice. But a strong case can be made that Trump's moment has passed. Time and distance allow for an honest assessment. We've found flaws. Why go with the original software when you can upload version 2.0, say DeSantis? The laws of political gravity being what they are, DeSantis being the hot candidate now all but guarantees he won't be the hot candidate in 2024.

*Yes, this blog supports Jack's decision not to concede. What's the rush? No, this blog does not think Phil Murphy stole the governor's race.

1/9/20 in New Jersey (MVS Edition)

If you've ever dealt with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Service, you're reading this and nodding your head:
A woman angry about long lines at the Motor Vehicle Commission office in Bayonne smashed computer equipment, assaulted a manager and security guard and kicked police officers, authorities said. [REDACTED]* 28, of Jersey City, was charged with criminal mischief, drug possession, simple assault, aggravated assault, resisting arrest and hindering apprehension Tuesday afternoon, Bayonne Lt. Eric Amato said.
Actually the MVS works a lot better now. When we moved here in 2001 one had to grab little cardboard forms, fill them out, hand them to the time serving old lady behind the desk and hope for the best. Former governor Jim McGreevy, of all people, fixed it. The MVS was a far cry from the swift, efficent red state era Virginia DMV which handled Mrs. Stroock's marriage name change in a matter of minutes.

The Bayonne assailant punched people and broke things. Readers will not be surprised to find out drugs came into play.

Document This, Amigo

Being a tax-paying, law abiding, lawn mowing, patriotic American, we find the whole 'undocumented alien' PC whitewash sooooo offensive.

Just this week Mrs. Stroock looked at the minivan*and saw the inspection sticker had expired three weeks previously. Since we're law abiding suburbanites we turned on the Drudge Siren.

Here in New Jersey one has to take one's car to a state inspection center and must provide, what's the word?....DOCUMENTATION just to get inspected. Well we looked in the glove compartment and saw the all important insurance card and registration were out of date.**

We activated the AoS Flaming skull of Death and sprung into action. One simply does not drive in NJ without one's insurance card and registration. The Fuzz are just dying to ticket one for that.

We immediately printed out a new insurance card and then headed down to the MVS**
and got a new copy of the reg. $5. They were very helpful.

That afternoon we went down to the inspection station and got the third...what's that word again? DOCUMENT required for driving our minivan.

We passed by the way.

So we don't want to hear undocumented ever again.

*It's a sweet ride. Also, no cop ever pulled over a middle aged man in a minivan with three little girls. 'Sir, license, reg and proof of insurance...and sir, please turn off the Taylor Swift.'
**Major Dad fail. We hang our head in shame.
***DMV to you civilians. I dunno.
