The Girls at the Washington Post are Terrible Coworkers

It's primary day here in New Jersey. We'll be voting for Tom Kean in the NJ07 GOP congressional race. Kean, who's a typical moderate, has been running against crime, illegal immigration, and Joe Biden. His ads are quick and sharp. Here we are in the autumn of 2020 during a phone bank session:

The New York Post tells us that The Washington Post has suspended reporter Dave Weigel for a month after colleague Felicia Sommez publicly attacked him over a bad joke tweet. Weigel should sue Sommez. What a cunt. Sommez not Weigel. Between this and the Taylor Lorenz drama, the WaPo seems like a great place to work. It's like a college dorm where all the girl's menstrual cycles have synced up. Rhymes with rich. 

In the Mother Country, Boris Johnson (tosspot) survived the no confidence vote. M. Steyn's thoughts on the man reflect our own. 'He blew it', Steyn concludes. Steyn thinks Boris is 'mortally wounded', but wouldn't he be stronger after winning the vote? Any British/Commonwealth parliamentarians out there wanna opine? This blog doesn't know what happens next. This blog doesn't care. 

Boris winning, the Alberta conservatives voting out Jason Kenney, and Doug Ford annihilating the Ontario libs would make a great article for our KGB handler. We sigh forlornly. We miss colluding with Russia. We really do. No other gig has materialized despite some queries. [Some folks just don't appreciate your genius-Ed] 

The great Don Surbur argues what we've argued for some time. Russia is winning. In the end Russia will get much of what it wants. Ukraine will be flooded with more foreign aid and more westerners, which means more Davos types. But the nation will never be the same. Wouldn't it have been better for Ukraine to concede the facts on the ground and agree not to join NATO in exchange for a no-invasion pledge? Exit question, how much pressure did/does NATO put on Zelensky to keep fighting? Peace is good for Ukraine but bad for Davos.

If It's Monday, it's the Day after a Giants Suck-fest

Back to virtual school today and we think probably for the week. We'll be avoiding the gym at Mrs. Stroock's request. None of these steps are unreasonable. We're about gym-fatigued anyway. Maybe we've just been blue-pilled.

This author feels no buzz, no ju-ju for anything other than World War 1990: Battle of the GIUK Gap. We must needs finish The Final Storm before we do that. One forward, one back. For that matter if we are to stick with the one forward one back plan we'd have to write another forward novel, wouldn't we? Of course there's no law saying we have to write them chronologically. Hmmm... The Final Storm, The Weser, TBD, GIUK Gap.

We think we should write something that isn't in the WW1990 universe and then remember we just wrote two novels outside the WW1990 universe. As soon as we publish this post we're going to get to work on The Final Storm's Aussie attack scenes. 

We look into the writer's abyss and see ourselves staring back at us. 

What Will's Watching, football. We didn't catch a single snap of the Giants game. Why bother? Bears 29, Giants 3. The Giants suck and have hit rock bottom of a ten-year slide. The Jets were beating the Buccaneers 24-20, when Tom Brady got the ball back with a little under two minutes to go. With no time outs he took the team 95 yards down the field for a game winning TD. LOL Jets. Mrs. Stroock's Eagles beat the Redskins in a close game. With Green Bay's win last night, the Igles are in the playoffs. The NFC looks a lot stronger than the AFC this year, no?

Some updates here in New Jersey's 7th Congressional District: 'State Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean Jr. now is favored to oust Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski in 2022 and New Jersey’s new congressional district boundaries are the reason why, according to the Cook Political Report.' Ten years ago, redistricting put us in a new district. We checked the map and Bridgewater is status quo. There is a GOP primary, and we intend to vote for the other guy. He lives around here someplace. 

Here's an article at Russia Today about Joe's latest phone call with Vladimir Putin. Looks like they made some progress. Or does it? Anyone who remembers the Cold War knows the Russians are clever. Our editor has sent us a war warning and told us to prepare to write Russian misinformation. We remain ready to serve the Kremlin. 

The Iranians hacked the Jerusalem Post. This blog jokes about the Jew being clever, for he is clever. As it is written. But remember Iranians aren't Arabs and therefore not incompetent losers when it comes to war. The coming existential conflict will be the greatest threat the Jews have faced since the Holocaust. Thousands of Israelis will die. Get a primer on Arab military loserdom in my own Israel at War, and her Enemies. Arabs can't fight.

Indecision Abounds

We've completed reading The Great Nuclear War of 1975. The next time we read it, the MS will be in proof form. 

Not ten minutes after we finished we had an idea for a scene where remnants of the US Pacific fleet are gathering in Subic Bay. This helps set the stage for events in The Great Salvation of 1976. Not a bad idea, Damn it. This is why we wait and take our time. 

We've talked to our editor and we'll be sending the MS along this Sunday Night. That gives us a week to tidy up things and ad whatever last minute things we're going to add. 

We'll probably lay the groundwork for the Barents Sea strike scenes today and this week in The Final Storm. We're writing without joy. This is a rough novel with a long slog ahead. 

There seems to be a lot of support among friends and readership for the next project being World War 1990: Battle of the GIUK Gap. 

This blog admits to massively overthinking things.

True. As Mr. Trump said during the first season of The Apprentice, take risks. The Great Nuclear War of 1975 is certainly a risk. It's a bit of sci-fi dystopia, so's its sequel. While it is true we are very good at what we do, we just don't know how these novels will sell. Once again, as the great Neil Gaiman has said, 'You know what people want after they like the thing of yours that they read? Another thing just like it.' As each WW1990 novel has sold better than the last, might it not be a good idea to write another?

Inshallah, we shall all eat lamb in paradise.

NJ.com reports on our probable future congressman's net worth: 'Tom Kean Jr., who is seeking the Republican nomination to take on Rep. Tom Malinowski for a second time, would be the second richest member of the state’s congressional delegation if he is elected to Congress next fall. Kean’s federal financial disclosure report showed assets of at least $6.5 million, which would put him behind only Rep. Josh Gottheimer, D-5th Dist., who had $8.8 million. Like members of Congress, candidates must disclose their finances annually.' Rick Mehta, who lives somewhere around here, is also running for the GOP nomination. We'll vote for him. There's nothing wrong with Kean, but the man had his chance. Heck, we made phone calls for him last time around:

"We just do security for different groups. We’re doing a favor for them,” Erick Jordan, 50, told The Post while walking alongside his 16-year-old daughter Jade. ' Everything about this story is heartwarming and A-OKAY. The 2nd Amendment and open carry is for everyone, and people need as much armed protection as they think they need. We bet that daddy-daughter duo really knows how to lay down fire. 

So last night a man drove an SUV through a Christmas parade in Waukesha Wisconsin. As of this writing 5 are dead and dozens injured. We're not commenting on the incident, you know why? Because we know fuck-all about it, that's why. We don't even know how to pronounce Waukesha. So we're not gonna speculate. Where not going to write things like, 'if true'. We're not going to make comparisons to Kyle Rittenhouse. We're going to stick with what we know. A man drove and SUV through a Christmas Parade in Waukesha last night. If only the poo-flinging monkeys in the media could do the same. Who, what, where, when, why. Try it some time you degenerate communists. Oh, and if the driver of the SUV turns out to be a mentally-ill child rapist, try not to take his side.

Chindian Neighborliness in Himalayan Level Snow

Dear god, we have snow flurries. 

The snow totaled out at 2 + feet. It was so deep and heavy that if one looked closely the snow took on a blue hue. We finally got our drive and walkway cleared out yesterday afternoon. Our two oldest daughters discovered why grownups aren't too keen on snow. They were rewarded with hot cocoa. There was much ebullient sledding afterwards.

We usually clear our 75 year old neighbor's driveway too, but as noted yesterday, our snow blower died. We got another neighbor (Guajarati) with a working snow blower to help. Down the street, another neighbor (also Gujarati) had his two 20-ish sons shoveling snow. We saw them and thought, 'What I wouldn't do to get my hands on some stout young men.' [Phrasing! -Ed]. We got a hell of a workout these last two days. 

In between bouts of snow shoveling we worked on chapters in '75 and '76 and just about wrapped up a thing we're doing for another thing. We await word from our Central Committee handler in Moscow, he always emails us on Wednesday demanding update on monthly magazine article quota.

Our neighbor Rik Meta, who challenged Corey Booker* in last year's senate race, announced he's running for congress in our 7th Congressional district against incumbent Tom Malinowski. Meanwhile last year's challenger, Tom Kean, for whom we manned the phones, is retiring from the state senate. At this point we'd support Meta. Kean had his chance. 

Meanwhile CNBC reports: 'New Jersey became the No. 1 state to move away from in 2018, according to new data from moving and relocation company United Vans Lines....“The data aligns with longer-term migration patterns to southern and western states, trends driven by factors like job growth, lower costs of living, state budgetary challenges and more temperate climates,” Michael Stoll, economist and professor in the Department of Public Policy at the University of California, Los Angeles, says in the report.' Someone commented on FB that New Jersey is as expensive as New York but without the benefits. Quite right. If you people knew the property taxes we pay...

*We voted for Booker in 2014. He was up against a professional conservative and perpetual loser and he'd just rescued a family from a burning building. Why not?

Will's Combined Saturday and Self Improvement Update With Bonus Local Campaign Coverage

It worked! Yesterday we began the morning with some hard news websites* + Instapundit & Breitbart and laid off the other stuff till 6. Felt good.

Even the mainstream polls show Biden falling and Trump rising.  Biden is reduced to arguing that character counts. How'd that work for Bush in 1992? Do you even remember, Joe? Oh, and what year is it?

NBC News found that 50% of voters say they're better off now than four years ago. Gallup says the number is 56%. Biden said the 56%  shouldn't vote for him. We agree. Oh, and the Ras has Trump in the high 40's, which is just where Barry was in October of 2012. It won't be close.

Speaking of, they're sending Barry Soetoro to Pennsylvania because Biden totally leads by a dozen there. Big mistake. Barry has no coattails. None whatsoever. ***

The Hunter Biden scandal continues... Rudy promises it's only going to get worse, by which he means better. This blog waits with great anticipation for those photos to 'leak'. Whoops. They're dripping the intel. Gee, who invented that? God bless you Andrew Breitbart. I think of you everyday.**

On to business.

We have the September KDP numbers. Reads and sales from August to September dropped less than anticipated. We have been wondering for some time if this great sales year was due to the Wuhan Virus from Wuhan China. So we looked at April, which at least in the US was the worst quarantine month. Sales were as morbid in April as they were in March, February and January. So yeah, no. Our massive year is not Wuhan Virus from Wuhan China related.

The Great Nuclear War of 1975 is 90,000 words and growing. We can sort of see the end but we ain't there yet. It's a slog.

We are going through the last chapter of World War 1990: Nederland and are generally happy.

So here in NJ's 7th Congressional district we have a tight race between first time incumbent Tom Malinowski (D) and challenger Tom Kean Jr. For outsiders, Tom Kean Jr's father, Tom Kean Sr, was a popular governor in the 80's and 90's and the name is still important here in New Jersey. Junior is the state senate minority leader. 

There's every reason for the GOP to be confident here. Kean's people have plenty of campaign signs out and one can't go onto YouTube without seeing ads saying why Kean is so good, and Malinowski is so bad. Our daughters know both of their names and have asked us if it's true what they say about Malinowski.

Because it's 2020 this cynical, detached, lay-about Gen-Xr roused himself to action and has been making phone calls for Tom Kean Jr. at the Somerville HQ.

Senator, my daughters see you on You Tube all the time, can I have a picture with you? The Senator was happy to accommodate. His handshake was firm, his gaze steely. I could have gotten lost in those eyes.

Vote (for Trump) or Die

Filled out our ballot yesterday and dropped it off. This came with a special envelope with special instructions that one was supposed to follow before putting that envelope in another envelope.  Twenty years ago, voters down in Florida were perplexed by chads and butterfly ballots. 

We don't foresee any problems.

We also voted for congressional candidate Tom Kean, senate minority leader and son of the popular former governor. There really wasn't another option, as his main challenger, Rosemary Becchi* moved to New Jersey's 11th Congressional District. 

Kean ran for US Senate in 2006 and lost. We suspect Kean is laying the groundwork for a gubernatorial run sometime in the future. Kean is running in NJ07, a seat currently held by former Obama state department type Tom Malinowski, who himself took out Leonard Lance, a long time Republican lay about. NJ07 is generally judged to be the most vulnerable Democrat seat. We have every confidence Kean can blow it as everything about the man says, 'Don't be mean to me.' His dad chaired the 9/11 commission and got rolled.

*On a tele-townhall we challenged Becchi to prove her toughness by calling her a racist transphobe. She passed the test.
