If It's Monday, it's the Day after a Giants Suck-fest

Back to virtual school today and we think probably for the week. We'll be avoiding the gym at Mrs. Stroock's request. None of these steps are unreasonable. We're about gym-fatigued anyway. Maybe we've just been blue-pilled.

This author feels no buzz, no ju-ju for anything other than World War 1990: Battle of the GIUK Gap. We must needs finish The Final Storm before we do that. One forward, one back. For that matter if we are to stick with the one forward one back plan we'd have to write another forward novel, wouldn't we? Of course there's no law saying we have to write them chronologically. Hmmm... The Final Storm, The Weser, TBD, GIUK Gap.

We think we should write something that isn't in the WW1990 universe and then remember we just wrote two novels outside the WW1990 universe. As soon as we publish this post we're going to get to work on The Final Storm's Aussie attack scenes. 

We look into the writer's abyss and see ourselves staring back at us. 

What Will's Watching, football. We didn't catch a single snap of the Giants game. Why bother? Bears 29, Giants 3. The Giants suck and have hit rock bottom of a ten-year slide. The Jets were beating the Buccaneers 24-20, when Tom Brady got the ball back with a little under two minutes to go. With no time outs he took the team 95 yards down the field for a game winning TD. LOL Jets. Mrs. Stroock's Eagles beat the Redskins in a close game. With Green Bay's win last night, the Igles are in the playoffs. The NFC looks a lot stronger than the AFC this year, no?

Some updates here in New Jersey's 7th Congressional District: 'State Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean Jr. now is favored to oust Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski in 2022 and New Jersey’s new congressional district boundaries are the reason why, according to the Cook Political Report.' Ten years ago, redistricting put us in a new district. We checked the map and Bridgewater is status quo. There is a GOP primary, and we intend to vote for the other guy. He lives around here someplace. 

Here's an article at Russia Today about Joe's latest phone call with Vladimir Putin. Looks like they made some progress. Or does it? Anyone who remembers the Cold War knows the Russians are clever. Our editor has sent us a war warning and told us to prepare to write Russian misinformation. We remain ready to serve the Kremlin. 

The Iranians hacked the Jerusalem Post. This blog jokes about the Jew being clever, for he is clever. As it is written. But remember Iranians aren't Arabs and therefore not incompetent losers when it comes to war. The coming existential conflict will be the greatest threat the Jews have faced since the Holocaust. Thousands of Israelis will die. Get a primer on Arab military loserdom in my own Israel at War, and her Enemies. Arabs can't fight.

Chindian Neighborliness in Himalayan Level Snow

Dear god, we have snow flurries. 

The snow totaled out at 2 + feet. It was so deep and heavy that if one looked closely the snow took on a blue hue. We finally got our drive and walkway cleared out yesterday afternoon. Our two oldest daughters discovered why grownups aren't too keen on snow. They were rewarded with hot cocoa. There was much ebullient sledding afterwards.

We usually clear our 75 year old neighbor's driveway too, but as noted yesterday, our snow blower died. We got another neighbor (Guajarati) with a working snow blower to help. Down the street, another neighbor (also Gujarati) had his two 20-ish sons shoveling snow. We saw them and thought, 'What I wouldn't do to get my hands on some stout young men.' [Phrasing! -Ed]. We got a hell of a workout these last two days. 

In between bouts of snow shoveling we worked on chapters in '75 and '76 and just about wrapped up a thing we're doing for another thing. We await word from our Central Committee handler in Moscow, he always emails us on Wednesday demanding update on monthly magazine article quota.

Our neighbor Rik Meta, who challenged Corey Booker* in last year's senate race, announced he's running for congress in our 7th Congressional district against incumbent Tom Malinowski. Meanwhile last year's challenger, Tom Kean, for whom we manned the phones, is retiring from the state senate. At this point we'd support Meta. Kean had his chance. 

Meanwhile CNBC reports: 'New Jersey became the No. 1 state to move away from in 2018, according to new data from moving and relocation company United Vans Lines....“The data aligns with longer-term migration patterns to southern and western states, trends driven by factors like job growth, lower costs of living, state budgetary challenges and more temperate climates,” Michael Stoll, economist and professor in the Department of Public Policy at the University of California, Los Angeles, says in the report.' Someone commented on FB that New Jersey is as expensive as New York but without the benefits. Quite right. If you people knew the property taxes we pay...

*We voted for Booker in 2014. He was up against a professional conservative and perpetual loser and he'd just rescued a family from a burning building. Why not?

Andy Ngo chronicles Antifa's 100 day celebration through residential Portland last night. Antifa wants Ngo dead, and has stated so publicly. One day, how he gets out there night after night to cover the story will be a great story. Slowly the riots spread. Eugene, Rochester, NYC, Seattle...As Walt Kowalski would say, it's gonna get real fuckin' ugly. Angkor counted on controlling the riots. Angkor counted wrong.

Nancy Pelosi, what can we say? Blow this, you denture chomping hag.

As we expected, Angkor's bit of cemetery fan-fic is backfiring. This is just an excuse for Trump to roll out all the vets who support him. This scheme is exactly like the Access Hollywood tapes four years ago, and we're astonished Angkor is trying it again. Do they learn nothing?

Meanwhile, Powerline has the latest Trump ad. That's a full on arclight strike for which Hidin' Joe Biden has no response. Just imagine what October will look like. No GOP has been this relentlessly brutal since 1988, and that's what this election will look like. Mr. We could use a man like Lee Atwater again...

Here in NJ07, Tom Kean Jr is finally running attack ads against Tom Malinowski. They're good, can't find a link. We may yet vote for the former governor's son. Malinowski is running these, 'We don't always agree but you'll always know where I stand,' ads, so we guess is internal poll numbers aren't looking good. We can't help but like the man.

Biden was the Bomb

Last night we watched The Big Bang Theory. We're amazed that a lot of people think it's a dumb, middlebrow show with cheep jokes. We find it quite smart.

As for assessments of the speech, wait a few days.

The brilliance of Trump buying the WaPo masthead is that it made libs in the media freak out and draw even more attention to it. The buy also shows that the WaPo is run by whores who will do anything if you pay them enough money. How is it remotely appropriate for a supposedly independent newspaper to run political advertising? 

Whores. Skank, skeezy, whores.

And checkout the Trump ads running on the YouTube masthead. Not since 1988 has any GOP run anything that tough and hard hitting. Not Mitt, not McCain, not W., not that old guy from 1996.  Mr. we could use a man like Lee Atwater again. Younger reader(s) we urge you to click that link. Click it! That is some vintage Cold War political advertising, when the GOP one five of six elections.

Brutal.

Usually a convention gives a presidential candidate a bounce in the polls. Trump is at 51% in the Rasmussen and tied in Minnesota, which means he's really ahead in Minnesota. There's been a convention bounce alright.

Here in NJ07, D incumbent Tom Malinowski and R challenger Tom Kean Jr are having a contest to see who can run the best soft focus, Mr. Nice Guy ads. So far Kean looks like a wimp. Just like his dad when he chaired the 9/11 Commission. We might just vote for Malinowski. We like him well enough and he seems sane, something the party of Ms. Venezuela and Somalia's Finest desperately needs. At some point Malinowski is go to call you a Nazi, Senator. Whatchu gonna do about it?

We put down JFC Fuller's Grant book. He wasn't telling us anything we didn't already know. God almighty, it's awful. And to think we read all we could by this guy when we first got into military history 25 years ago. At one point A Military History of the Western World was our Baghavad Gita. And so we switched to Lee's Last Campaign...so far beautifully written, a real tribute without being sentimental. We're learning a lot.

Vote (for Trump) or Die

Filled out our ballot yesterday and dropped it off. This came with a special envelope with special instructions that one was supposed to follow before putting that envelope in another envelope.  Twenty years ago, voters down in Florida were perplexed by chads and butterfly ballots. 

We don't foresee any problems.

We also voted for congressional candidate Tom Kean, senate minority leader and son of the popular former governor. There really wasn't another option, as his main challenger, Rosemary Becchi* moved to New Jersey's 11th Congressional District. 

Kean ran for US Senate in 2006 and lost. We suspect Kean is laying the groundwork for a gubernatorial run sometime in the future. Kean is running in NJ07, a seat currently held by former Obama state department type Tom Malinowski, who himself took out Leonard Lance, a long time Republican lay about. NJ07 is generally judged to be the most vulnerable Democrat seat. We have every confidence Kean can blow it as everything about the man says, 'Don't be mean to me.' His dad chaired the 9/11 commission and got rolled.

*On a tele-townhall we challenged Becchi to prove her toughness by calling her a racist transphobe. She passed the test.

Pelosi's Gambit is a Disaster

And here's how we know. Our Congressman, Tom Malinowski, who is not a huge Tweeter, sent several tweets about Pelosi' bill.

1/8/20 in New Jersey

What by the many arms of Vishnu is this fresh hell?:

The wife of former Rep. Patrick Kennedy (son of Ted) has jumped into the Democrat primary for the 2nd district in New Jersey. If that district sounds familiar, it is because it was in the news a lot at the end of 2019. Rep. Jeff Van Drew currently represents the district. He switched from the Democrat Party to the GOP in December.

Patrick Kennedy spent most of his career drunk, just like his father, Ted.  Young Patrick seems to have cleaned himself up. He hasn't left any women to drown in an overturned Buick, anyway.

You're goddamn right we're being mean and snarky.

At least Mrs. Kennedy seeks to represent an area from which she actually hails*, unlike her husband's uncle, Bobby, who carpet bagged from Massachusetts to Washington DC to New York. That was the only Republican vote our Kentucky born grandmother ever cast.

As mentioned previously, NJ02 is Trump country. Mrs. Kennedy could win in a year that favors Democrats, say 1986 or 2006. This year does not favor Democrats.

*Like our own Tom Malinowski.

Malinowski is one of those diplomat types, which is fine. He is also severely critical of the President's foreign policy, which is not fine. Malinowksi worked in Jean Francois Kerry's State Department.

Malinowski refers to Iran as an enemy, but he was on the job when Barry and Jean sent them pallets of cash.

Following the man on Twitter, we've gotten to like him a bit. He has a sense of fun and humor and is perfectly in-offensive, no small thing for the party of Ihan Omar. But Malinowski is up against New Jersey Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean, son of the beloved former governor. Also impeachment. He's cooked.

Former Governor Chris Christie, who knows a thing or two about winning elections in New Jersey, lays it down:

You know what’s happening in blue New Jersey, a very blue state. Jeff Van Drew switches from Democrat to Republican, from the majority party to the minority party in the middle of impeachment because of impeachment. Andy Kim, who won his seat two years ago, is now losing to Katie Gibbs, his Republican challenger. And Tom Malinowski is losing to Tom Kaine Jr., the son of the former governor.

New Jersey may be blue, but we ain't California, we're more a light blue. Medium blue?

As previously noted, Tom Malinowsi is our congressman. To be honest, we've gotten to like the man. He's more or less sane, and has a sense of humor. Malinowski could be a Dem president's secretary of state. Oh well.

7-5-19 in New Jersey

As we have said before, Governor Phil Murphy is setting the stage for a presidential run in 2024:

Gov. Phil Murphy marked the July 4 holiday Thursday by announcing New Jersey’s government would once again oversee resettling refugees in the state, three years after former Gov. Chris Christie ended the practice.

The Democratic governor also signed an executive order to create a state Office of New Americans to help immigrants and refugees resettle here.

Murphy cast the moves as his latest broadside against Republican President Donald Trump’s administration.

“While the federal government takes action that prevents immigrants from seeking the American Dream, New Jersey will fight for our brothers and sisters and stand against the hatred and bigotry coming from Washington,” Murphy, a frequent Trump critic, said in a statement.

That's first rate virtue signaling. 

Wonder where the refugees will end up. Probbaly Newark. Murphy will know better than to piss off subrubanite Dems by dumping a bunch of Central Americans in their midst.

Actually, we're all for placing these people in Camden. They can't do worse.

When Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean beats our own Tom Malinowski in next years NJ-07 Congressional election, he'll be in great shape for a run at Trenton in 2021.

7-2-19 in New Jersey

Tom Malinowski is the frosh Democrat representing our own NJ-7 Congressional district.

He strikes as an interesting man and seems nice enough.

Tom Malinowski is in trouble:

Malinowski remains largely unknown to most voters after ousting five-term Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton Township) by 16,200 votes in the 2018 mid-term elections. The new congressman has favorables of 29%-16%, with 54% of voters saying they haven’t heard of him, or still don’t know enough about him to form an opinion.

Nearly six out of ten voters (59%) oppose impeaching President Donald Tru An NRCC polling memo suggests that this puts Malinowski “in a tough spot,” since 57% of Democrats support impeachment.

Malinowski has said that he is prepared to start the impeachment inquiry as a beginning of a process but has not yet reached a conclusion about how he would vote.

Even worse, Malinowski  is being challenged by Tom Kean Jr, senate majority leader, former candidate for the US Senate and son of revered former governor Tom Kean Sr.

When nobody knows who you are, but everyone knows who the other guy is, you're toast.

Measure the drapes, Mr. Kean. Measure the Drapes.

Future Former Congressman Tom Malinowski

Loyal readers will recall our chronicling of last years congressional race here in NJ-07.

Briefly, carpet bagging Washington Democrat Tom Malinowski defeated longtime incumbent Leonard Lance by a thousand votes or so.

We have just learned that next year Malinowski will be challenged by Thomas Kean Jr.

This is yuuuge folks.

Thomas Kean Jr is a member of the state senate and the son of former governor Tom Kean Sr.

Junior has enormous name recognition and will have no problem raising cash.

We can't speak for circumstances and ideas, but so far the GOP has a great candidate.

Malinowski is toast.

Election Wrap up Part Dos

We have to admit that the end result of this election has confounded us.

Let us state right off we believe the Dems have stolen the seat in Arizona and a bunch of house seats in California. The reader(s) may be skeptical, which is fine, but answer this question: why do all these late recounts always, ALWAYS favor Dems? Call us a sore loser if you like, but we're not the ones trying to throw out the rules to get none citizen votes counted.

Bottom line,  the suburban districts swung Blue, and Red States swung Red.

When Trump wins easily in 2020, he'll swing a lot of those suburban districts right back to Red. The difference is many of the once and future Red districts will have much more conservative GOP reps. Our new Dem rep here in NJ-07, Tom Malinoswki will be replaced not by but Leonard Lance by a much more conservative candidate. That's not really a prediction just an example.

The Dems are further to the left, and the GOPs are further to the right.

Try getting these two to agree on anything.

In that sense, this election was another sign post on the road to Civil War.

NJ-07 A Further Thought

Challenger Tom Malinowski's ads feature the typical Dem boilerplate: Leonard Lance will take away you're healthcare, he's worse than Hitler, etc etc...

Meanwhile Lance highlights his bi-partisan credentials.

Ok, so Lance isn't appealing to the base, but he doesn't need to. If we're willing to vote for Lance already, so's the rest of NJ-07 Trumpland.

Election 2018: Report from NJ-07

Here in New Jersey's 7th Congressional District, we're represented by milquetoast Republican Leonard Lance, who is pretty much a wanker. We told him so once during a tele-townhall.

NJ-07 is rated 'toss-up' by the stat-heads who usually get these things wrong.

The district is the scene of some fierce campaigning though and Democrat Tom Malinowski is working hard to win. One see plenty of Malinowski signs around here, which means as with everywhere else, the RESISTANCE is out in force.

That above mentioned tele-townhall is important, though.

Lance has a strong organization in the district. For starters, after we told off his boss, Lance's CoS called for a follow up.

During the last few elections Lance faced primary challenges from a Tea-Party candidate. Our mailbox would get flooded with Pro-Lance material during the last ten days of the race.

We know for a fact that canvassers have come through our neighborhood talking up Lance.

And every time we go on YouTube we see this:

...or some version of it anyway.

Our point is that Lance has a good organization here in NJ-07.

From what we've seen Malinoswki's ads are an incomprehensible embarrassment:

Big Pharma, really? Does Malinowski know how many people work for 'Big Pharma' in this part of the state?

Another ad said Leonard Lance opposed assault weapon bans and funding for Abortions. So Malinowski is running a GOP turnout op now? There's also some high-concept artsy stuff, but I can't find it in Malinowski's YouTube page.

The only poll we've seen comes from mid-September and had Malinowski up 46-43, which means both sides have work to do.
