It was ten years ago today that we began this blog. Here's the first post, written like that on purpose. Here's what we wrote nearly three years ago on occasion of this blog's 5000th post.
All the things are still true, except having three things to write every day. No more newsy Russian media op-eds from us. Don't worry, Ukraine enthusiasts. We hate Russia with the proper vigor, don't you worry about that! Heck we even burned the Kremlin to the ground in World War 1990: The Final Storm. Hey, look at that, 300 + ratings making for a 4.2 star average.
One supposes after ten years one should pull and post the posts of which one is proudest.
We started this blog to write about teaching, we hoped. Our career blew up shortly after. See This post, this post, and this post. Kurt Schlichter once linked to an academy related post we wrote. Colonel Schlichter is always right.
In 2017 we spent several posts deconstructing the original Battlestar Galactica.
These posts on NYT's reporter Ali Watkins are just plain mean. Mean, but justified. Sorry, we're not the one who gave up the vijay-jay to a middle-aged senate staffer for access, now are we? The media is decadent, depraved and utterly shameless. Don't worry. Ms. Watkins is doing just fine. Heh, we almost bought that book, for obvious reasons, till we remembered who Ali Watkins is....
Speaking of a decadent and depraved media, here's a snarky letter and post we made about USA Today.
Not decadent and depraved media, we wrote about Matt Drudge 20 years after he broke the Lewinsky affair, and changed media forever. And here's our first Andrew Breitbart post. I am still Andrew Breitbart. Reminder, no Breitbart, no Trump.
We also liked picking on Hillary gofer Huma Abedin.
In Will Before the Kavanaugh Committee, we had a lot of fun with senate hearings. Related...We've always been less hostile to Lindsey Graham than a lot of Maga Hats. Here's one of the reasons why.
Here's Dark Mornings, written the day after Trump's win in 2016. We were writing in medium sized characters then.
In the Deep Night we spent several posts describing dyslexia, childhood, and learning development.
This we published about an hour after our grandfather's death.
We avoided blog wars for the most part. No one wins those exchanges. The only winning move is not to play. But here's a banger. The one time we stooped to conquer...Here's another banger showing PhDs can be D-U-M.
