Woodstock Post Mortem II: Wither Music

At Woodstock 1969 and even 1994, the music mattered, man.

In the case of the former the festival was a showcase for the very best Rock and Roll had to offer, The Who, Hendrix, etc. Fifty years later one can listen to the soundtrack and get a feel for the moment, the cultural zeitgeist. Sure, there was plenty of crap on stage too (Sha Na Na), but still.

Now look at the failed Woodstock 2019 lineup.  Miley Cyrus? Jay Z?

Of course rap isn't even music.

That's some zeitgeist.

Woodstock Post-Mortem I: Wither Country Joe McDonald

A very interesting article from the degenerate commies at Rolling Stone on the decline and fall of Woodstock. We recommend the reader(s) read the entire article in its entirety.

This, from Country Joe McDonald, whoever that is, struck us about the head like a dead fish:
“I was excited to be there because I represent the Vietnam War; the war no one wants to talk about and pretends never happened,” adds McDonald, who was planning to revive his caustic anti-war “I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-to-Die Rag” from the original festival. “So I was very happy to bring that back just by doing that song.”
A war no one wants to talk about? People pretend it didn't happen?

What the fuck is he even talking about?

When did Balding Boomers ever stop talking about Vietnam, man....?

Now, Joe, the Vietnam War was like, 50 years ago. Remember those geezers in the funny uniforms with the stiff-neck collars going on about the Meuse-Argonne back in '69? That's you right now, today, in 2019. Go away.

Woodstock Dead and Gone and Good

The Daily Caller reports:
Michael Lang, co-founder of the three-day festival to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the music festival Woodstock, said the event has been cancelled due to “unforeseen setbacks.”
Thank god.

Read on and you'll see that Jay Z pulled out of the show, also John Fogerty.*

And so we see what happened to Rock & Roll. The genre has been overtaken by rap/hip-hip, which is of course not music.

Also, refusal to die. John freakin' Fogerty? That's like Al Jolson performing at...the origional Woodstock.

*Google him everyone under 40.
