Still no Iowa caucus results, JFC.
John Kerry (D-Paris) is threatening to run for president.
We wonder what stunts Amy Schumer's uncle is planning over the next 36 hours or so.
Based Lindsey Graham is back, promising an investigation into the Ukraine Hoax. It's takes him a while to get going, but never, ever make Lindsey mad.
When Trump gives the SOTU tonight he should hand San Fran Nan a pen.
Trump gets to win tonight and then win again tomorrow when he's acquitted.

Impending Dem Doom
This blog has never seen polling like this. From Suffolk University,
Biden comes closest to beating Trump, but he ain't winning the nomination. Too old, too white. No, Sanders and Warren have the Dem's heart, both of whom, ironically, are old and white, but in a woke, progressive sort of way.
As this blog noted previously, Democrats should be sick after Boris' tremendous win in Great Britain. This poll reproduces those results.
Trump 44 (+3)That's after four months of impeachment harping. Do it Dems, we dare you.
Biden 41
Trump 44 (+5)
Sanders 39
Trump 45 (+8)
Warren 37
Trump 43 (+9)
Bloomberg 34
Trump 43 (+10)
Buttigieg 33

Collude and Obstruct This!
Trump wins.
Trump always wins.
Trump wins so much he wins on things on which he's already won.
Like the Mueller report.
A few items in the report are vague enough for Dems to keep screaming about collusion and obstruction like the risen dead.
Collusion is undead. But there's no need to give it the double-tap.
We here at William Stroock dotblogspot dot com dearly hope the Dems scream on.
Can Mueller actually be conspiring with Trump to make the Democrats look like howling retards?
Don't laugh.
The Dems thought Trump colluded with Russia.

The Boys of Covington
By now you've all heard of the Covington Boys and the hate hoax perpetrated against them.
They were the perfect targets: white, male, hetero, catholic, MAGA.
Those nice young men were set up. They're going after our children now.
The shit's really hit the fan from a media perspective. Good. We hope the Covington families sue the media and this dime store Indian into the stone age, where by the way, Native Americans were until Europeans arrived here. Isn't that right, there, Chief?
We haven't done so of late, but today we'll be walking around in our MAGA hat.
Dissenters are welcome to get in my face if they want, see how that ends up for them.
You're goddamn right we're pissed.

Troll Level: Infinity
We here at William Stroock dot blogspot dot come have had a great week.
First, with the White House kitchen staff on furlough, Trump says, 'You know what? Let's order out' and delivers what statistically speaking is the greatest college football national championship luncheon buffet ever.
Then he takes away Nancy's jet.
I can't believe how awesome President Trump is right now.
He's literally broken the scale, scoring a 10.1 out of 10.
This was thought to be impossible on Earth, though experiments aboard the International Space Station indicated it might be possible in zero gravity.
Scientists are baffled.

Now we have a new Deal-Marcello
Trump is about to get a yuuuge win for the manufacturing Mid-West and Dems think they're going to win the House and Senate with Stormy Daniels, Michael Cohen, and Russia, Russia, Russia.
Ok.
Ok.

Down Mexico Way
So President Trump wants to send the army down to the Mexican border.
Why not? Isn't patrolling and defending the border, like, I dunno, one of the jobs of a military?
Actually there's ample precedent for this.
When the Great War broke out something like a quarter of million Regular Army and National Guard Troops were patrolling the U.S.-Mexican border. You see, Mexico was in the throws of a violent revolution which spilled over the border into the United States. The infamous Poncho Villa raid on Columbus, NM was only a small part of that story. Actually, the town was garrisoned by the US 13th Infantry, which shot the ever-living shit out of Villa and his banditos and then chased them into Mexico.
Over in Texas' Rio Grande Valley, Colonel Robert Lee Bullard was waging a counter-insurgency against Villistas, Mexican nationalists and Texas vigilantes, which amounted to dozens of small gun-fights a month and scores of casualties, all right here on American
soil. Gotta love Texas.
Such operations were actually right in the U.S. Army's wheelhouse.
Pershing, Bullard and the rest of the Regulars were experts at low level counterinsurgency, having fought them in the Reconstruction Era South, the Indian Wars and the Philippine Insurrection.
After the Columbus raid, the president directed the War Department to invade Mexico, an operation which led to several battles with the Villistas and the Mexican army.
So I say go ahead, send the army down to the border. But this time skip the invasion, eh, amigo?

Shutdown Shot Down
Well that was pointless.
Honestly the best part of the CR deal is that McConnell and Trump wouldn't agree to open the government until Schumer gave up $31 billion in tax cuts on Cadillac health plans and medical device taxes.
Now the leftist base is pissed and the Mexican wing of the Democrat Party is mucho calliente!
Schumer lost big.
Speaking of Angry Mexicans, Breitbart tells us that Representative Luis Gutierrez is non tranquilo:
More importantly, the increasingly militant Mexican wing of the Democrat party wants a piece of the racial spoils system.
You think trying to keep Tea Party Populists and Establishment GOP Types united is hard, wait till Guitierez and the rest of the Mexican wing goes back to los Barrio and tell sus constituyentes that the homosexuales come first.

“If the Republicans said we are ending same-sex marriage, but we promise Democrats a vote later; or we approve of oil drilling in every national park, but you’ll have a vote later – do you think the Democrats would say yes?,” Gutierrez asked. “This shows me that when it comes to immigrants, Latinos and their families, Democrats are still not willing to go to the mat to allow people in my community to live in our country legally.”Uh oh! Latinos are not necessarily as down with los homosexuales as Brooklyn Hipsters and San Francisco intersexed couples.

Who's Nuts?
President Trump is insane and soon the 25th Amendment will be invoked for his removal.
So sayeth the Progressive pundocracy and the Resistance which thinks it's living in the early days of Hitler's Germany and The Handmaid's Tale is a timely commentary on modern America.
These people also believe in something called White Privilege and institutional racism. Bad ju-ju, man. Bad ju-ju.
So if we have this right, and we think we do, according to the Proggies, Trump colluded with the Russians to hack the election and uses his office to book rooms at Trump Tower.
Meanwhile everything is A-OK and on the up and up in Clinton World.
Lib-Progs burst into tears on election night, tried to turn the electoral college against Trump and protested his inauguration.
Democrats then spent the next year insisting Trump is illegitimate and demanding other Dems not 'normalize him'.
Oh, and then they introduced impeachment articles.
Trump's not insane. He's winning and that drives Progressives insane.

Into any room he walks, Trump is the smartest man
So the other day President Trump called Senator Elizabeth Warren (C-Stalingrad) Pocahontas. What a maroon. Everyone knows she's Fauxcahontas. She's as Native American as we are, and as noted before, we don't got no Native American in the fuel supply, despite numerous attempts to find some.
How, White Man. Me likum squa. Trade big magic.
[Now was that really necessary?-Ed]
Yes, yes it was.
[Jerk-Ed].
Anyhoo.... Everyone thought President Trump screwed up on that one. We didn't. Trump does not screw up. Trump moves form victory to victory. Don't believe me? Well watch this:
Oh, by the way, while the depraved sex-lunatics in the media were focusing on Trump reminding us all that Elizabeth Warren is the whitest of white fake Indians, he was gutting Warren's own Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Then he goes and Tweets this:
Somehow this tragic event slipped our consciousness, much like Joe Scarborough.
According to reports the intern slipped and whacked her head on a table.
We have footage right here:
Now if this scene didn't immediately come to mind then you're reading the wrong blog.
[What the fuck, man. What. The. Fuck.-Ed]
Trump's war against the media continues unabated, from victory to victory. It's almost like the Civil War, and Trump is Sherman.
March on.

All Things Considered, What do you Think about the Election?
One has to have a heart of stone not to pity, mock, laugh at and otherwise enjoy the humiliation of politicos and pundits, chronicled here, who thought Hillary! was going to win in a landslide. They're acting like Mary Todd Lincoln coming out of Ford's Theater.
We especially enjoyed the bitter aftermath parts. Here are some of the really fun entries:
We especially enjoyed the bitter aftermath parts. Here are some of the really fun entries:
[Stroock's commentary]
Rebecca Traister: I was thinking everything from, “I’m gonna have to rewrite my piece” to, “Can we stay in the U.S.?” I texted my husband, “Tell Rosie to go to bed. I don’t want her to watch.” [Please Leave]
Reza Aslan: My wife stayed up and I went to sleep, then she woke me up around 1 or 2 in the morning bawling and told me that it was over. My poor, sweet wife. She wanted to hug and kiss me but I went into a panic attack and couldn't breathe. [We can't decide if we want to go with 'A man admitting he had a panic attack?' or 'Now you know how we felt on 9/11]
Van Jones: I had Muslim friends who came from countries like Somalia asking, "Should we leave the country tonight?" Because in their countries of origin, if a president that hostile takes power, they might start rounding up people in the morning. [No choice issues on this one, now you know how Christians in the Middle East feel. Also we think you should leave the country tonight.]
Ana Marie Cox: A Muslim colleague of mine called his mother. She was worried he was going to be the victim of violence at any moment. A colleague who is gay and married was on the phone with her wife saying, “They're not going to take this damn ring away from me.” [More Muslims fearing backlash ahead of tomorrows terror attack. Also, no one cares about your damn ring]
Shani O. Hilton: You get on the train from Brooklyn. It’s silent. And not in the normal way of people not talking to each other. It felt like an observable silence. I saw at least three people sitting by themselves, just weeping silently. [We really would have enjoyed some phone footage.]
Jorge Ramos: I've been to wars, I've covered the most difficult situations in Latin America. But I needed to digest and to understand what had happened. I came home very late. I turned on the news. I had comfort food—cookies and chocolate milk—the same thing I used to have as a kid in Mexico City. After that, I realized that I had been preparing all my life for this moment. Once I digested what had happened with Trump and had a plan, which was to resist and report and not be neutral, then I was able to go to bed. [We don't think Mexicans understand how this election thing work]
Ashley Nicole Black: I took a shower, and then as soon as water hit me, I started bawling. I didn't really have any feelings until that moment. [Oh yeah baby, you come out of that shower, daddy's here...] *Good lord people, when we found out Barry was reelected in 2012 we said 'ugh' went upstairs and got back in bed with our wife and week old daughter. What the fuck is wrong with you? It's an election. This is not Soviet Union or Chicago, sometimes your side loses.
You personally invested yourselves in a person and an event over which you have absolutely no control and acted like you just saw your own family vaporized in car bomb. Ashley, Jorge, Shani, Ana, Van, Reza, Rebecca, you people are all mentally deranged.
I enjoy your pain
*UPDATE. We just looked up a photo and never mind. Yikes.
Remember, One year ago Today Stroock was right...
....and CNN, Chuck Todd, Politico, Mark Halperin, William Kristol, The New York Times, Charlie Cook, George Will, ABC News, Piers Morgan, the BBC, Rachel Maddow, Don Lemon, Pinch Sulzberger, Nate Silver, The Boston Globe, The Huffington Post, Ana Marie Cox, The New Republic, Chris Mathews, Vanity Fair, Tina Brown, Donnie Deutch, The New Yorker, Pat Schoen, Bob Shrum, NBC News, Cenk Uyger, The View, Joan Walsh, and The Washington Post, were wrong.
Will Stroock was right.
Here's what we wrote on election mourn:
[You don't even know what analytics are, dumb Yank-Ed]
Quite right.
But with our crappy, on-line degree, and our self published books, and our own knowledge of history we saw what none of those above mentioned political geniuses saw. Trump was going to win.
[You were lucky. After all, you blew 2012-Ed].
Also quite right.
But we called 2000. We knew Bush was going to surprise in the 2002 midterms because we had this unfair internet advantage, (RCP). We knew Bush was going to win in 2004. As soon as the financial collapse happened we knew Barry would win. We knew the GOP would rock in 2010 and 2014.
Ok, Ok we thought the GOP would hold on, barely, in 2006. Oh well. We're 6-2.
It ain't rocket science people. And it ain't luck either Ed, so fuck you.
Always trust content from William Stroock.
Always.
Will Stroock was right.
Here's what we wrote on election mourn:
I don't really have anything interesting to say on the matter or any special insight.
My sense is this: Mr. Trump peaked at the right time and then surged. He seems to have locked up Fl and OH, IA and NH and has Clinton fighting like mad for PA and MI. If Mr. Trump wins either state then its all over. Facts:
-Early voting totals, once thought to be one of Hillary!'s strengths, now look very good for Mr. Trump. We ran no statistical analysis. We made no use of data analytics.
-It seems Mr. Trump is getting about 19 percent of the black vote.
-Mr. Trump seems to be doing no worse with Hispanics than Romney.
-Via the IBD poll yesterday, it seems Mr. Trump has picked up a lot of female support (there's a joke in there someplace).
-As in British parliamentary elections, the Brexit Vote and the Israeli elections, the press and pollsters have underestimated the conservative vote by a couple of points.
-The Trump people are really, really motivated.
-It is hard to replace the sitting president in your own party, ask Nixon or Algore.
-Its a change election. Hillary isn't change.
-The economy stinks.
-Our foreign policy is a disaster.
-At some point, people just want something new, and it doesn't matter how flowed the opposition candidate is. Just ask Bill Clinton.
-For these reasons I think Mr. Trump win decently with no election night drama.
We'll see.

How Can this Be?...
Via the increasingly indispensable Don Surber we learn that the Chinese Central Bank will no longer do business with Kim.
No outside bank means no capital. It means no foreign currency reserves. It means Kim's ability to buy on the international market is crippled. That's a body blow to Kim.
Trump just got China to stop banking with Kim. That's a yuuge deal folks.
Still think Chuck and Nancy rolled Trump on DACA? Suuuure.
When will the naysayers learn?
Trump has given Kim a nick name: 'Rocket Man'. That's bad news Kim, bad news. When Trump nicknames you you're finished. Just ask 'Low Energy Jeb', 'Lying Ted' and of course 'Crooked Hillary'.
You know, a lot of people like to jokingly call Trump a 'god-emperor'. But we're going to go a step further.
Trump is the Kwisatz Haderach!

Trump Washingtoned
It certainly seems that way, doesn't it?
Priebus is gone, he could never run things. So's his man Spicer. So's Bannon. So's Gorkha.
The Alt-Right narrative is that Washington is taking over the White House from the Bannon types.
That remains to be seen but it certainly seems like Kelly is asserting control. Maybe a White House with Trump and Washington grownup types will work better than Bannon's White House.
That's the hope anyway.
And it doesn't mean MAGA is finished.
Trump pardoned Arpaio didn't he? That's certainly a MAGA move.
Word his he's about to kill DACA. Personally I'd trade DACA for ten billion toward the wall.
But if DACA dies that's fine too.

Report From the Leonard Lance Protest
So last night my Congressman, Leonard Lance held a town hall at my former place of employment, Raritan Valley Community College.
I didn't have tickets to the actual town hall but there was a big protest outside so I decided to check things out.
The crowd is gathered behind a temporary fence in front of the college. There is great turnout. At least a couple hundred people have showed up. These are the usual combination of professional Democrats, the SEIU and Sierra Club is here as are at least a few other local groups. A good half of the protesters are young people, it's at a college campus after all. A lot of older women are present, skinny vegans, crazy cat lady types, gals who have been doing this sort of thing since at least the Nuclear Freeze movement. I didn't see one woman I actually wanted to schtup. There are a lot of gray bearded liberal men, a few professional crazies. To my disappointment there were no black masked thugs. I didn't see one man that I thought stood a decent chance against me in a fight.
The protesters hold a eclectic and varied array of printed and homemade signs. There must have been a hundred of them. A fair amount of pink 'pussy hats' too. Many insist they are not paid protesters. Maybe, but this is a well organized and planned event as evidenced by the banners and printer signs.
The crowd is overwhelmingly white, whiter than the newsroom at MSNBC.
There are lots of cops. Branchburg, Bridgewater, Somerset County Sheriff. These were professional and friendly. There will be no trouble at this event. Lots of press too. Local, ABC, CNN, and curiously Agence Presse France. What's up with that?
Clad in a red MAGA hat I eventually settled in with half a dozen other Trump people. We stand out even with no hats. Large men. Solid looking men. One was with his beautiful blonde wife. We stood in front of the protest, watching and chatting. The crowd was boisterous, excited and loud. They were having a good time. They were also well behaved. No one gave me any trouble. When a woman dropped her sign over the temporary fence she asked if I could get it for her. I obliged. At once point a woman with a home made 'No Wall' sign began bashing Melania to our little gaggle of Trumpiness. She was skinny with short gray hair and glasses and a dead ringer for that coot that was thrown off a plane last month for harassing a Trump supporter. We mock her out of existence.
One by one the leaders of the various liberal groups there make short speeches. These were of the usual boilerplate and thoroughly uninteresting.
Video at this link, guys. Do watch it all the way though.

Trump the Press
Well that was interesting.
President Trump's press conference was rambling, unfocused and utterly brilliant.
As noted in this space during the election, if you are the GOP nominee you're running against the media. President Trump has been marinating in the NY media scene for fifty years and understands media better than any of those shit-heels at the press conference yesterday.
Jim Acosta who Trump turned into a stammering idiot last December, was actually kissing his ass yesterday. It was glorious.
I watched the press hector and belittle President Bush for eight years. I once saw a press conference in which four different times they asked if he was going to apologize to families of soldiers killed in Iraq. Don't get me started on Katrina.
Seriously, what does President Trump owe them after the election? Nothing. Note in that clip above how Jim Acosta is desperate just to get a question. That's about access and prestige, 'Look! I got a question at a presidential press conference!' So President Trump has been hitting them where it really hurts. He's given questions to the New York Post, the Daily Caller, the Christian Broadcast Network, etc etc. Just watching the media freak out over that has been glorious.
With apologies to the great John Nolte, from whom I am stealing, I better call a doctor because this erection has lasted more than four hours.

The Great Unraveling
Well, we're three weeks into the Trump Administration and the other side is in complete freak out mode. Right now we have a Civil Cold War, I think John Derbyshire coined the phrase, with flair ups of violence. These of course happened at President Trump's inauguration, at the Milo-Berkeley event, at Gavin McInnes' NYU talk and several other places. Incidents of violence against Trump supporters are legion, just look it up on Youtube.
I myself have been walking around in a Red MAGA hat for a couple of months now, but being 6 feet and displacing about 250 lbs generally immunizes one from attacks by skinny jeans wearing anarcho-fan boys.
Far more troubling is the unraveling or sorting of the culture. Macys and Sears dumb Invanka Trump's clothing line. Kellogg's stops advertising on Breitbart. Audi runs its now infamous Super Bowl ad. All these moves are going to or have cost these companies business, yet they don't seem to care. This analysis of the Audi ad is brilliant and explains why the ad is so troubling.
For the most part we on the right have been enduring these assaults. That said action by various groups has and is being taken behind the scenes. One thinks of the undercover exposes of James O'keefe, and the Oath Keepers. Gavin McInnes has thrown a few punches. One wonders how much longer.
Here is Berkeley Antifa thug Yvette Felarca assaulting a Trump supporter:
Bitch, I'll fuck you up.
But that's the subject of another post.

You're Fired!
President Trump fired acting Attorney General Sandra Yates:
I couldn't resist.
Yates follows a grand Democrat party tradition stretching back to Jackson and going on to Calhoun to Davis, to George Wallace of ignoring or nullifying laws they don't like.
Then there's the case of Mary Francis Berry, an otherwise unemployable academic whom President George W. Bush tried and fail to remove from the Civil Rights Commission because, well, her term expired. Berry insisted her term hadn't expired and stayed on. I guess she blocked the Civil Rights Commission door.
Of course W. backed down.
He'd back down here too.
President Trump employed the ax.
It's almost as if he goaded Yates into being insubordinate just so he could make an example of her. I know I'm feeling all warm and nummy about it. Of course the inevitable Reagan comparison is being made.
Hearkening back to him is always dangerous for a conservative. That said, Reagan's firing of the air traffic controllers is an apt comparison. It was a crucial moment in his presidency. One that terrified the Soviet's actually whose take away was, 'This Ronald Reagan is madman who means he says, Comrade.'

Putin laughs hard, slips, hits head and goes into coma, saving NATO
Shaken by Trump’s Criticism of NATO, Europe Mulls Building Own Military Force
I bloody well hope so.
Ok, not really. A pan-European Army would be worse than useless. It would be a provocation. Maybe the Euros would get lucky and Putin would laugh himself to death.
It's a real shame what's happened to NATO.
Back in say, I dunno, 1990, NATO's armed forces were small, but well trained and equipped. The West German Bundeshwer was the largest and best Continental army. Being German they really couldn't help themselves. The British were more professional and better trained, but smaller and lacked some of the punch of those mighty Panzer Divisions. Both the Netherlands and Belgians could put an mechanized army corps in the field. The French had one corps on the Rhine and could send another into action. For that matter France had a fine navy as did of course the Brits. Italy was probably a near equal to France in terms of land, sea and air power.
I wanted to portray a lot these armed forces in the World War series. Just wait till the Final Storm comes out, you'll see whole sections dedicated to the French and Italian armed forces. In Arctic Storm there are references to the Dutch Army, the BAOR is a major subject. In Eastern Storm we see some major West German characters.
We've come a long way.
That's Spain's defense minister in 2008. Somehow the blue berets are appropriate. Maybe she's having a boy?
During the last 15 years of war NATO has been more or less useless. Yes I know they send these contingents to Afghanistan or Iraq. A battalion a here, a regiment there. But its very minimal. Just of the top of my head I can recal stories about Italians refusing to escort convoys, Norwegians refusing to leave the base at night, Germans being too fat....
Yes, yes the caveats apply, of course.
The most important caveat are the English speaking nations. Lookie here, alongside the Yanks in Afghanistan are the Brits, Canadians, Australians, Kiwis. All fighting the Taliban tooth and nail while the defense ministers of other NATO countries, well, do their nails:
