Will Gives his Expert Analysis of the EU sans UK from NJ

Brexit makes the EU stronger, no? The Brits wrung some serious concessions out of Brussels when they joined, payment rebates and the like, its own currency, and they've been a royal pain in the arse ever since.

The EU had no center of gravity as France and Germany (Jupiter and Saturn if you will) competed for the dominant position with Britain circling like a rogue star. With Britain gone that leaves Pierre and Fritz to have at it. Macron thinks he runs things or that he is at least co-equals with Frau Merkle. After a century and a half Paris still doesn't get how Europe works with Germany united.

As far as Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain (PIGS), well, 'Wer ist dein Papa!'

There's also the matter of the Eastern Europeans, Hungary and Poland especially, who've been sniping at Brussels over mass migration for half a decade now. They like the economic benefits but not the EU edicts.

But the EU could always get new members. Scotland wants to leave Britain (Freedom!). Yeah, sure. We recall one of the SNP Independence campaign posters: Free tuition, free prescriptions, no nukes. Was this really about a free Scotland? Since they want to join the EU, probably not. When Americans think of Scots they think of warriors and industrialists, iron willed Calvinist pioneers shooting up red coats and taming the wilderness. Those are the Scots that came to America and Canada. Modern Scotland is a nation full of train-spotters; a bunch of welfare lay-abouts with the most incompetent independence movement this side of Quebec. They should leave and join.

We've rambled on about our mother's ancestral homeland, a proud descendent of the Orangemen she was. Our grandfather, from whom we get our middle name (Thompson) always told her to wear Orange on St. Patrick's Day. And so we do...and so we do.

Notes on Various

In Israel, Netanyahu looks to be in trouble, so what else is new? There are two viable challengers on the right, Naftalli Bennett and Gideon Sa'ar, both getting 15-20 seats. It has been pointed out that Bibi has few friends left, so we don't know how he gets out of this one. He could go left, we suppose. But what's left of the Israeli left, and that amounts to maybe 25 seats in the 120 Knesset, hates his guts. There's the Arab Joint List, about 12 seats....sorry bad joke.

Meanwhile if Boris walks away from the Brexit talks that will begin his rehabilitation for us. Maybe there will be something in that cab after all. We don't believe the walk away talk, though. This is typical brinksmanship and we expect a resolution before Sunday's deadline.

Colonel Schlichter, who is always right, has a great column on the runoff elections in Georgia. Here's a great point for us pessimists out there: 'The Murder Turtle Mitch McConnell is already on the job. He knows what happened in November and his minions will be watching in January. His crew of cutthroats are flooding Georgia with lawyers and gathering poll watchers and count observers.' Read the whole thing, as Professor Reynolds likes to say. Cocaine Mitch confirms judges and wins senate elections, and he's all out of judges.

We don't talk much about the Kungflu on this blog because we like to stick with what we know. But it seems obvious to us that the Wuflu is back because flu and cold season is back. By the way, we took an antibody test out of curiosity. Youngest daughter had a raging flu in February, we had a rather odd cold in October and chatted with someone who tested positive two days later and....negative. Damnit. We admit to being profoundly disappointed. Governor Murphy is complaining about the extreme unresponsiveness of New Jersians to his (snitch) contact tracers and said it needs to stop. Lol, get fucked Murphy. We have to get cholesterol and triglyceride bloodwork next week, That should be, ahem, interesting.

Big tech is coming for you. YouTube announced it's censoring election-skeptical content. There are other options, Rumble for instance. We're on Parlor and Gab and have an account on MeWe. We're glad the DOJ is suing FB. Will Joe's DOJ kill the suit? Depends on what Beijing wants, doesn't it?

We're going to break our rules today and write a World War 1990: Saddam's War scene. Say hello General al-Majid, Saddam's fixer and pro-consul of Province 19. Reader(s) may know him by his nickname Chemical Ali. He's running the war on Kurdistan while making preparations in Province 19.

On The Great Nuclear War of 1975 front, Matt is walking, walking and walking. We finally figured out where he's from, Rhode Island. And he's heading to his family that went to visit the in-laws in Indiana. we'll talk more about it on the Saturday update, but we're really getting confident about having this 100,000 words clean and ready by 1 January.

Greater Europe aint't so Great...

...But the English Speaking Peoples are.

Ed West points out that the British Remains have a rather unrealistic view of what the Continent really is:
Right-thinking Britons see their country as an embarrassment sliding towards populism, a sad contrast to the moral superpower that is Germany and France under centrist leader Emmanuel Macron. Yet the Continent of the Anglo liberal imagination is as unreal as the supposed nostalgic Britain of yesteryear loved by Leavers.
Ed west gives us English speakers the skinny about what's really going on in Europe and it ain't pretty.

How France (Napoleon), Spain (Franco) Italy (Mussolini) and Germany (do I really have to say it?) became 'moral superpowers' in these people's minds is beyond us.

All the bad ideas of the 20th century were spawned in the solons of Europe. All them were defeated by the English Speaking Peoples.* The above listed nations would be fascist hell holes if it weren't for the boys of Liverpool** and Chicago, the Midlands and the Prairie Provinces, the Great Plains and the Canadian Rockies...

The American elite is the same way.  This is about place and class. The highly educated don't want to see themselves as citizens of mere-nations with their history (warts and all) religious and cultural traditions, national anthems before sporting events etc etc. Post national Europe is a far grander project, no?

And Globalists have been rocked by three elections now, Brexit, Trump and Boris' campaign. How could the public let them down like that? Psst, don't tell 'em about what's gonna happen in November.

Exit question for the sophisticated types the Remainers, the Never-Trumpers: What if it's you?

*You're damn right we capitalize that.
**[Awwww thanks -Ed]

EU to Farage: No More Fun of Any Kind!

Tomorrow is the big day for Britain.

This blog will celebrate in the most Stroockian way possible.

In the meantime, Herr Farage celebrated in the only way he knew how. Behold:
This is almost exactly like the courtroom scene from Animal House. Don't believe me?:

Boris the Changer

This was a change election.

Which is ironic because the Tories have been in power since 2010. But still, this was a change election.

Labour is now the party of over-educated, soy foam latte drinking, urbanite hipsters who love globalism and the EU, and see a bowl of English mashed peas and ask if they can get some of that Mexican avocado dip.

The Conservatives are the party of the working class now. Chances are that if you love Football and a pint, you voted for Boris and before that you voted Leave.

Liberals throughout the west assume race is the determining and permanent political factor. How do these Marxists not understand that class is more important?

Respondents reported the number one issues in this election were Corbyn and Brexit. The former comes down to one question, are you European, or are you British?

Boris Johnson is very and uniquely British.

This isn't  David Cameron's* Conservatives Party from 2010.

It's Boris' party now.

*Worst PM since Gordon Brown

Boris!

You better goddamn believe it's Boris Johnson Day here at William Stroock dot blogspot dot com.

Boris and the Tories annihilated Jeremy Corbyn and Labour, winning 364 seats. It's the biggest Tory victory since Margaret Thatcher's 1987 win. The Tories won longtime Labour constituencies and flipped large swaths of the north. Mining constituencies voted Conservative.

Boris ran a brilliant campaign, enthusiastic and fun loving; the man looked like he was having a great time. Get Brexit Done may be the best campaign slogan this century.

Boris Breaks Through!

Say what you want about Boris Johnson, but there is no arguing against the man's sense of fun:
Polls say the race has tightened a bit but we don't buy it. When data does not match observation we choose observation. Labour is an un-electable dumpster fire of socialist Jew-hatred led by a socialist Jew-hater. Who's voting for Corbyn, that....thing?

Scoff all you like but in 2016 data told you Hillary! would win and this blog told you Trump would win.

Where was you're data then?

Boris Rises

Via Guido Fawkes we see Boris and the Tories are now topping out at 47% of the vote. This gain is coming at the expense of the Brexit Party whose voters are smartly coming home.

Labour is also surging a bit as left voters are doing the same.

Forty-seven should be enough for Boris to win a conservative majority, no? We bet a lot of that Labour support will simply deliver super-majorities in core Labour constituencies like the tonier parts of London, just like California here in the US. Jerks.

It's easy to see why the Tories are winning. Boris' campaign is relentlessly optimistic. Get Brexit Done! is a great slogan. It's positively Trumpian.

Meanwhile Jew hating pig Jeremy Corbyn, last seen apologizing for the IRA,  promises more negotiations and another referendum. Socialists love politics, don't you know.

Hmmm...does Boris go back to Brussels and demand and even better deal?

Labour to Jews: This way to the Delousing

Via Guido Fawkes Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party wants to 'reassure' Britain's Jews.

3000 years of Jewish history tells us that when a king, prince, or say...chancellor wants to 'reassure' Jews, the wise Jew will get out of town.

Behold:

That Labour flunky might as well have said, 'The showers are that way.' By next year Ilhan Omar's Democrats will be saying the same.

Britian (still) Bofo for Boris

Via Guido Fawkes, we see Boris and the Tories are out to a big lead. We cannot be sure due to the vagaries of the Limey parliamentary system, it looks (said with an up-talking question mark) like the Tories will romp.

We don't know how many votes Herr Farage and the Brexit Party will syphon off or if they will weaken Tory candidates and throw the race to Jew hating Labour socialists.

The Brexit party is weakening though. If we had a vote, this hard-core, just walk-away Brexiteer would come home and vote Tory. Which seems to be the decision made by most of the blokes with actual votes.

Boris' Gom Jabar

Boris has his election, scheduled for December.

This would be what the pros call winning the argument first, then having the vote.

Boris goes to the polls having delivered a no no-deal Brexit against a disintegrating Labour Party led by a vile, socialist, Jew hater. Jeremy Corbyn is a garbage leader and human.

This blog expects the Lib-Dems to pick up a lot of seats at Labour's expense and become the head of the Loyal Opposition.

Stare into the Gom Jabar, Jeremy, you will find Boris staring back.

Boris in Command

Whether or not the Commons approves Boris' deal remains to be seen. Our sense at 7.29 in the morning is that it will. That said Labour and the other parties are opposed.

Check out Guido Fawkes for updates.

In any event, as we suspected Boris is saying my 'deal or no deal' so if there is a crash-out it's not his fault.

Well played, sir.

*See what I did with the title?

The Boris Maru

Brexit a true Exit?

Maybe.

Herr Farage does not seem entirely pleased, but that's his job.

This blog is cautiously optimistic.

The Commons votes on Saturday.

Boris has put Labour in an impossible situation. Vote yes and they betray Remain. Vote no and they're responsible for a crash-out, no-deal Brexit after Boris did everything he could.

Right now Boris goes to the polls as the man who delivered Brexit and will return from an election the undisputed king of British politics, vanquishing all enemies and leaving a weak and flaccid post-Corbyn Labour in his wake.

Unless they can hack the system and reprogram the computer, Labour is effed.

Oley...oley...oley…oley….Boris....Boris...

Merkel to Bojo: Drop Dead

As of this writing it looks like Brexit negotiations are dead, killed by Frau Merkel*, and No Deal proceeds full speed ahead.*

Via the indispensable Guido Fawkes, we see polls showing the Tories will wipeout Labour and the stinking socialist Jeremy Corbyn. No wonder they're keeping Parliament deadlocked.

Every word spoken by Her Majesties' Attorney General Geoffrey Cox is right true and proper. Exit question: can they bring in Cromwell?

*There's a joke in there someplace.
**Titanic joke is too obvious.

Boris to Labour, 'Come on!'

Via Guido Fawkes a poll of the British public confirms what we know, Brits want an election.

This is a zombie parliament that can do nothing. The public deserves an election to sort things out.

Proving David Cameron was the worst PM since Gordon Brown, in 2009 the chameleon formed a government with the Lib-Dems by passing a law requiring a 2/3rds majority to dissolve Parliament, undoing centuries of tradition where the PM could dissolve Parliament at will.

The left knows it will get clobbered leaving the nation with a Tory majority, a Johnsonian Tory majority.

The public is done. The public is finished. The public says, Lets just do it already. Enough.Out! Out! Out!

Below, the Prime Minister mocks, berates and humiliates Labour's vile, socialist, Jew-hating leader.

Brexit not the Perfect Exit

Mark Steyn, who knows the man, thinks Boris wants a no-deal Brexit.

At Hotair an excellent analysis of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Brexit problems. Basically, leaving the EU without a deal might shatter Great Britain.

The Scots are already pushing for a second independence referendum. 'Free college. Free prescriptions. No Nukes.' they promised last time around. That's a hell of a nationalist slogan, lay about, socialist, tossers. For foreign readers, when Americans think of Scots they think of iron-willed men holding fast at Waterloo or say, Normandy, tough pioneer folk breaking the land and taming the wild throughout the Empire with their accent alone. Of course Train Spotting is a more accurate depiction. Yikes.

Northern Ireland is threatening to leave the UK and reunite with the rest of Ireland. Over at the link, lot's of technical data on the Republic of Ireland/Northern Ireland Brexit issue. Huh? Our understanding was that the good Orangemen of Belfast would fight anyone to stay British, even the British.

We will do much research on this issue next week, and intend to present our elegent solution to the problem in the pubs of Ireland.

[Which is?-Ed]

Ireland rejoins the UK.

[You do that.-Ed]

We admit we don't really see a way out of this mess with No Deal. Unless it's all bluff and bluster.

This blog says roll the dice, just walk away. Nothing will happen.

[Easy for you to say, Yank-Ed]

Quite right, quite right.

Johnson to Britain: Sun Rises in East

Boris Johnson, the next British Prime Minister, has adopted Trump's strategy of saying something blindingly obvious and letting the deranged lunatics on the left howl like drug addled San Francisco defectors:
Boris Johnson has demanded immigrants to the UK learn English because ‘there are too many parts of the country where it is not the first language.’ The Tory front runner made the comments while at a Conservative leadership hustings in Darlington on Friday. He said it was important for people to speak primarily English so they can ‘take part in the economy and in society in the way that that shared experience would allow’.

Read more: https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/06/boris-johnson-demands-immigrants-learn-english-inte
Let's try this ourselves:

'People immigrating to England should be thankful.'

'People immigrating to England should accept Parliament's laws.'

This is a fun game, people. Try it!

Like Trump, Boris is rich.

Like Trump, Boris is twice divorced. Actually his personal life seems even messier. That's a fun google search, folks.

Boris just doesn't have to care what anyone says or thinks about him.

We no longer know if Britain can be saved, but we think Boris Johnson is crazy enough to do it.

British Conservatives to Tories: Sod off, Tosser

Breitbart has the bad news for the Tories:
Nigel Farage’s newly-formed Brexit Party have sensationally topped the opinion polls in national elections for the first time, with Nigel Farage hailing it as a “historic moment”.

The poll by Opinium showed that, in the event of a general election, the Brexit Party would be the largest party in Parliament with 26 per cent of the vote.

The Labour Party came second on 22 per cent and the governing Conservative Party in third place on 17 per cent, followed by the Liberal Democrats on 16 per cent. The Green Party received 11 per cent — a significant rise for them from just four per cent in the last Opinium poll.
Checking our math this poll shows the Brexit and the Tory parties getting 43 percent of the vote. In the Limey's first past the post system, the Brexit Party would pickup up 305 or so seats in parliament.

In the aftermath of Theresa May disastrous leadership the Tories face electoral Armageddon*, and deservedly so.

British conservatives are telling the establishment to get fucked.

This is essentially what GOP voters told Jeb Bush**, Paul Ryan*** et al. But instead of bolting they just put Trump in charge.

There is only one way to save the Tories, is there not?

[And what do you suggest, you bloody Yank?-Ed]

Oley...oley, oley, oley...no deal...no deal...

*Why does spell check insist upon capitalization?
** Prick.
***Wanker.

Theresa May, Whithered

Theresa May is going.

Not soon enough.

From the moment she took office in the wake of the establishment's Brexit defeat, May did nothing but fail. She called an election and the geniuses who didn't anticipate the Leave turnout also didn't anticipate the left's turnout in the election. She was forced to go into a coalition with Ulster, creating a vulnerability for her which the Europeans exploited ruthlessly.

May's plan was feeble, weak as Lady Thatcher would say. It failed in parliament, and then failed in parliament again. She extended the Brexit deadline and then extended the Brexit deadline again. Her negotiations failed, and failed and failed. May was pathetic, searching for the one tweak of the Brexit Bill that would get a majority. She never got a majority.

Theresa May will be fine. She'll sit on some corporate boards, maybe teach a class at Princeton's Wilson School, which is fitting, really, and rake in the dough.

The Tories will not be fine as Herr Farage gobbles up the Tory Leave vote. May leaves the Tories in Existential Crisis.
